We were exploring the Columbia River and Ole Bob's was one of the few places open, so we decided to stop for lunch on a Saturday at 2PM. Ordered the crab cake plate which supposedly came with coleslaw and rolls. What was delivered were two extremely thin limp greasy things - no coleslaw or rolls. They forgot to tell us they had been busy and run out. When we asked about the coleslaw, they somewhat begrudgingly provided a watery side salad. My husband had the fish tacos which were good.

While the tables had been cleared and cleaned, the rest of the restaurant was an absolute mess with dirty dishes on all of the counters and tubs of dirty dishes everywhere. Even though the restaurant was not particularly busy when we were there, none of the staff thought is was important to clean up the mess. Won't go back, will not recommend to anyone, the health inspectors should be called.

We were driving back roads, exploring Washington, and although we hadn't planned on having lunch, we decided to stop and have some fish and chips when we drove by OleBob's Seafood Market. The service was friendly and the food was fantastic! It really was the best fish and chips we have had. The fish was tender and tasty with just the right amount of crispy coating. The snapper white fish just flaked away. Nothing was greasy or heavy, just delicious tasty fish. And the french fries were extremely good as well. So for a casual fish and chips lunch, we have not had better!!

My cousin and I ate here twice, as the first experience was very good clam chowder and most excellent fish tacos. The fish portion in the tacos(soft corn tortillas) were very generious and the pico de gallo was fresh. The second time I had the fish and chips, and again the portion of fish was very generous. Really like the fact that you are overlooking the water and marina. On Sat is the farmers market, so what a pleasant afternoon.

I'm a snob about chowders. My mom made a true New England Clam Chowder and this is the closest thing to her chowder yet. Lovely flavors, you can taste the clam but it's not overpowering and the creaminess was spot on. It's a casual spot but a glass of white wine and their chowder and you're all set. The harbor view makes it even nicer.....

Hoping to get a good local meal outside of Clatsop County we ventured across the Astoria Megler bridge today. Our destination, the Ilwaco mooring basin and their quaint little outdoor craft bizarre. When it was time for lunch we choose Ole Bobs. What found was high prices and long lines. Typically a sign of good thing, high prices for great food and good service never bothers me. What we received was a treasure trove of poor service, dirty utensils, two orders of Halibut fish and Chips that had soggy, limp french fries. One Shrimp Louie salad that had a decent amount of pink bay shrimp, sectioned tomato, a few slices of cucumber, a hard boiled egg, on a cheap lettuce bed and the shrimp Louie had enough liquid under it that it filled the empty blue cheese container that was served with it! The Crab Louie did not have the cascading sea of water under it, it was however devoid of as the shrimp Louie was black olives, cheese, croutons, side bread, and the other standard staples that are included on a $18.00 salad....

Dirty, slow, poor service and mediocre food would be my summary! My advice is stay away!!!
