Description: The Tides Tavern offers the greatest house-made food and finest beverages in the western hemisphere, but only to persons over 21 years of age. Please be prepared to show I.D. The building that houses the Tides Tavern was built by Axel Uddenberg in 1910 and served the area as a general store. Located next to the "People's Dock," the town's only public ferry landing, it was called the West Side Mercantile. From that time until the present it has had a series of owners and has been several businesses. Run down and in a state of disrepair, the building was bought by Peter Stanley in 1973. After an extensive and ambitious rebuilding project, the Tides opened it's doors to the public on Saturday June 2, 1973.

My wife & I went here after living in the area for years. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. We were surprised that grass fed beef was an option on the menu (it's what we eat at home). Can be crowded at times, but that's part of the atmosphere.

Locals and tourists alike can be found at Tides Tavern! The tavern type food is always good, from fish and chips to all kinds of burgers and tasty sweet potato fries. Also great salads and a wonderful selection of appetizers. Breakfasts on the weekends is a treat. Try the breakfast pizzas! See you on "the deck" at the Tides!

They have an outstanding staff that made our visit quite nice. I had the french dip sandwich with a side salad and my husband had the patty melt and fries. The food was well worth recommending and very likely to be ordered next time. The view from every window of the harbor and boats is always enjoying. The noise level gets to be a little loud at times but I definately recommend this as a place to try.

This is a don't miss if you're visiting and it's a constant for the locals. You're right on the water and during summer months they have a huge deck. During winter the window tables go quickly. But it's so much more than that. There's a undefinable vibe at "The Tides" thats just great fun. Amazingly their service is very good and their food is a cut-above what you would expect. Their fish and chips are awesome (get the halibut), and they have a great happy hour menu. Tips from a local: Get there early (11:15 for lunch and 4:15 for dinner). If you arrive by boat they will serve you in your boat (just give them a call). Don't dress up (it's all about jeans and Uggs).

We went there at night so we didn't get to see the beautiful view, but it was still a good place to go. I had a pizza and it was great! They have a large selection of beer and a pretty big menu where you can find something for everyone!
