Went on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:30, it wasn't too busy as the lunch crowd had pretty much wound down. The service was slow, although the server was a nice person. We ordered a Margarita and a Mojito to start and the drinks were good. The regular red salsa that the brought out with chips was terrible, so we asked for some kicked up green salsa which was much better. My wife and I both ordered the city tacos, she got the pork carnitas and I got the carne asada. Both meals were really good, needless to say they were the highlight of the meal. Flavors were robust in both meals, carnitas pork was tender and the asada was as well. We'll definitely go back for the drinks and city tacos, the slow service and and a bad salsa is the only thing holding them back from scoring higher!

We went Wednesday evening for dinner with friends and their 4 year old granddaughter. The staff is always friendly, courteous, and prompt. Décor and background music set a good atmosphere and may remind you of your last vacation.

Chips and salsa was kept full as we waited for our drinks and dinner. There is a very wide selection of beverages, and they are generous.

The menu has always been the star attraction. There is a lot to choose, and prices are very affordable.

My favorite is the Carne Adobada, my wife loves the Del Mar Chimi. Our friends had never been here, and have announced that they would love to come back.

We didn't try the patio, off the bar, but it appears to be a little tight.

Avoid if possible. We have been regularly visiting here for years and have found that upon their moving to the new location that service here has been consistently left in the dust of the former location that has been demolished. Several times we have come trying to give it another chance but the last time we were having dinner in the bar area and the management came out and talked to us after we requested them (after exasperated wait staff that were frustrated and embarrassed) to understand why when multiple couples around us were leaving early disgusted, they wouldn't quiet down a young, loud, rude, foul language group.....the management simply said "they're regulars, there is nothing he would do". Some couples had come into the bar area to avoid loud kids in the dining area and remarked that the young adults were worse and they should have stayed in the dining area. When couples around we're leaving, you couldn't hear across the table simple conversation without yelling. There was no loud music or sports, but you wonder what the mgmt wanted as a customer base. Seems that regulars for close to 20 years should not bother and should just take their dining to another location per what the mgmt was telling us...without ever a simple sorry or apologizing. This seems to be a place that now wants noisy rude people that drink heavily and spend freely vs a place that wants a long term customer base that provides a consistent regular diners. So if you want to drink lots and be rude, go here while others go elsewhere for a better evening out.

Moctezuma has opened a new restaurant in Gig Harbor. My husband and I have been several times and find the service and the food to always be quite good. It's a comfortable little restaurant in the Uptown area with fireplaces, a nice bar and outdoor seating when the weather permits.

I loved this restaurant before they moved...don't know what happened, but my husband and I just shared an excruciating lunch there. First of all, the music was so loud we couldn't even carry on a decent conversation. The food was under-seasoned and simply tasteless...portions were GIGANTIC. We felt bad that we left so much food on our plates, but there was no way we were going to take that mess home. The salsa for the chips tasted like they opened a can of crushed tomatoes and dumped it in the bowl. Our server was sweet, but clearly had no interest in her job...she had to come back and ask my husband what he had literally just ordered...and then she still got it wrong. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is the fact that their margaritas still rock...at least they haven't messed that up.
