Massimo's is a pleasant place with a bar, water view, good food and value. The appetizer steamed clams were fresh and garlicy, delicious and definately needed to be shared (21 to my order) and a good deal at $8.95. The Ceasar Salad (although nothing too special) was also a good value at $4.95 with anchovies that really added taste. The homemade gnocci was very nice- tender and swimming in a flavorful tomato veggie sauce. The Zuppa de Pesce was also a good value at $16.95 for a pile of clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp with a couple of buttered toasts; funny enough it was almost the same ingredients as the seafood linguine special (with the addition of salmon bits and pasta- this was $22.95- in the end the Zuppa would have been just as good). Wine selections were very good beginning at $6.50 per glass. The one disappontment was the caprese salad- it was the standard with small balls of fresh mozzarella piled in the center and tomato slices spread around interspersed with basil leaves and balsamic; the flavor was dull - the tomatoes unripe. Servers are attentive and pleasant. Great family or date restaurant! Would definatly return ;)

We're in the area for a family celebration and my sister and bro-in-law took us all to dinner at Massimo's. We had reservations and were seated right away when we arrived. The service was excellent, even though they were quite busy. The waitress was personable and efficient and the bus girl made sure beverages were refilled and plates removed promptly.

But I haven't talked about the food. It was just great. Our host recommended the calamari appetizer as it was grilled, not fried, and was her personal favorite. 4 of us decided to have it as an entree with a side Caesar salad. What a surprise when the the dish was served with fried calamari steak strips. The server informed us the change had been made by popular request. Even though the dish was still very good, all four of us agreed that we would prefer it with grilled calamari. Maybe the restaurant could offer a choice. Everyone else in our party of 8 thought their dish was the best. We had various veal, chicken, pasta dishes between us and it was all just fabulous. There's a good wine list and best of all, everything is reasonably priced.

The outside deck has a wonderful view of Henderson Bay, as do many of the tables inside. This is a definite "yes" for the favorites list.

This restaurant has changed hands (and names) many times over the years, but they ended up doing it right! The serene water-front location is terrific, as is the service. The food is very good and the prices won't scare you away.

We always use this location to give out-of-towners a taste of Gig Harbor.

We loved this restaurant on Henderson Bay right off the Rt 16 (Purdy Exit) North of Gig Harbor.

Let's talk Pasta.....many variations of fish, beef, lamb, and Pastas including great wine list...excellent appetizers, a kids menu... (Pizza Pizza Pizza) an ample happy hour, a quiet sports bar with high tables, outdoor seating on the Bay in season, and plenty of great view tables inside. Family friendly, couple friendly, and geri's are treated like family. It is a local watering hole and restaurant....so you know its going to be good. Service was friendly, personal, and speedy. They have a list of specials almost as long as the menu...all memorized by the cool wait staff. Deserts looked awesome but we were full....two baskets of home made bread (complimentary) with dipping oil & spices....mmmmm goood.

The only negative is finding the entrance to Massimo's which is virtually at the intersection where 302 turns West onto a Bridge (continuing 302) over the bay. If you come from the North exit ramp you access the entrance on the right just past the stop light at the bridge entrance. If you come from the South, you actually have to go past the bridge and turn around and come through the light again for a legal right turn into the parking lot. (Not so hard when you miss it once) ....we did.
