“A perfect family spot!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We visited No Cabbages this past summer, and had a simply perfect night. We were two parents and our seven year old daughter and three year old son. Jamee and Dal were perfect hosts, made us feel instantly welcome and at home. The smores around the fire were a sweet surprise, and the kids loved exploring the grounds and spent so much time just snuggling with Bama the dog. Our night in the new suite was simply divine. The room is gorgeous, the shower is amazing, the bed was so comfortable, the view out the windows was so delightful. And then breakfast? So so so delicious. And so friendly. We were in the midst of a long long long trip, and this was the perfect spot to discover for a night of welcoming, friendly, home-like comfort. And a place where our kids felt welcomed too! We'll be back. Most definitely.

It was a dark and stormy night. As we made our way down the hill in the pouring rain and fog I kept looking at my watch. I had told Jamee we would be there by 9:30. We arrived at No Cabbages at 9:20, and knocked on the door. The outside lights were on, but the inside looked rather dark. Bama the dog greated us at the door, letting us know we were at the right place - he was the only one who thought that tho. Dal came to the door, and looked a bit perplexed when I said we were here. It took a minute or two before Jamee remembered our email conversations. A bit embarassed for forgetting, they quickly welcomed us in. We waited about 5 minutes while they got our room ready. We all had a good laugh, and retired for the night. Dal brought in a portable heater, but we didn't need it. There was no soap for the shower, but we travel with our own, so it wasn't a problem for us. In the morning Jamee got up early and made us (very good) coffee since we needed to be out about 2 hours before breakfast would be served. When asked about locks and keys (there was none on the bedroom door that we noticed), Jamee said not to worry, they would be home when we got back - and they were. After we came back from dinner, we sat in the living room and chatted for a couple of hours. They made us feel very welcomed even offering us a glass of wine or a beer, and conversation was easy. If you need a sterile hotel type room, this is not a place for you. We've stayed in B and B's where it didn't look lived in. This was "lived in clean". We left feeling like friends. If you like meeting the locals when you travel, this is a great place.

I fell in love the minute we arrived! Dal was in a tree. Jamee would be home soon. "Make yourselves at home." And so we did. Our stay at No Cabbages was so wonderful we decided to move to Gig Harbor. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And I love your custard!

From the moment I drove up to No Cabbages Bed and Breakfast I could feel the peace and serenity. The hosts, Jamee and Dal, were very welcoming and one of my favorite things about my stay was the lovely conversation each morning over coffee! Breakfast was always delicious, especially the homemade raspberry jam over warm popovers with cream! I stayed for 4 nights and it was hard to leave and go back to the reality of everyday life. This is a perfect place to go for some R&R and I will definetely be coming back for another stay in the future with my husband!

My wife and I spent two days over the summer at No Cabbages B and B. It was a marvelous experience and one filled with bushel baskets of fond memories. Jamee and her husband were consummate hosts. Theirs is a pet friendly place and our pug, Pugz Maghoo enjoyed making friends with their gentle dog.

We were welcomed with open arms as soon as we stepped foot in their living room. The bedroom we slept in was spacious and comfortable. The overstuffed bed, piled high with blankets, was a delight to sleep in.

In the morning, after coffee, I walked their outside labyrinth, feeling calm and peaceful afterwards. Jamee cooked up a fabulous breakfast of avocado and eggs, served with yummy bread. And fresh cups of gourmet coffee. What a way to start the day! Their grounds are quiet, lush with foliage and trees, and so quiet you can hear your stresses drop away like leaves off a tree.

But most of all, we relished the conversations we had with Jamee and Dal. They are a delight to talk to, and within minutes we felt like we had known them a lifetime.

This is not your ordinary, "antiseptic" B and B. This was cozy, warm and unbelievably hospitable. Truly, No Cabbages is a unique experience and we highly recommend it to all who read this review. We hope to return and rekindle the flame of friendship with these two delightful owners.

From the moment I stepped into the calm oasis created by the lovely owners Jamee and her husband Dal, I was whisked away on an enchanted journey. It was truly a mind-healing, self-rejuvenating journey into Mother Nature’s lap. A myriad of nature picturesque, the house is nestled in a secluded cove of swaying giant trees that seemed to wave as we walked along the path to our private suite above the garage and house below.

The suite was plushly decorated with everything we needed to relax and unwind. The panoramic views from our windows were so breathtaking they could only truly be adequately described by a poet gifted with the words bestowed upon him by his creator.

The breakfasts made by the owner, Jamee, were so decadent that I found myself moaning and uttering praises in between each delicious bite. My personal favorites were the pop-overs with strawberry and whipped cream, as well as her omelet with spinach and goat cheese. The wonderful breakfasts she prepared were only made more amazing as we shared coffee and talked about news, pets, and family.

The overall journey ended with a warm hug, a sincere and heartfelt goodbye, and an invitation to come back. If you are looking for a retreat...an escape from life...or a romantic getaway where all of your stress and worries can be stripped away, No Cabbage Bed & Breakfast is the place to stay.

I loved every minute. Thank you Jamee!

We centered our entire stay in Gig Harbor around this B&B and we could not have been more disappointed. Jamie, the hostess, is a fine person, but she may need to rethink her calling. We stayed in the suite above the garage where cobwebs draped over the curtains. The bed linens smelled musty, and the toilet had not been cleaned in some time. The green towels were bleach-stained, and for toiletries, we were offered shampoos and soaps from other establishments, some of them already partially used. The floors were dirty, the labyrinth overgrown, and though the description says beach-front property, we never saw the beach. We left early and found a much better place to stay in a neighboring village, but by then our time for rest and relaxation was nearly over.
