“Dogs in Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Double Bluff is a gorgeous beach that has one of Whidbey Island's best off-leash dog areas; just look for the colored flags flying to mark the beginning of the space where you can let your dog run. This gorgeous place has views across to more of the island(s), and interesting clay bluff formations. There are picnic tables, sani-cans, and bins for disposing of doggie-doo. It is also a driftwood collector's paradise, and while strolling, one often sees amazing shacks built totally of driftwood. Hint: we go only on weekdays, as the parking area is quite small and is always over-crowded on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Lots of driftwood forts/sculptures around the beach. I found lots of beach treasures - especially beautiful shells. Those are my favorite mementos. It's very romantic too!

“Kids loved it.”

Very full parking lot but didn't feel like beach was crowded at all. Great sandy beach. Off leash dog areas. Garbages needed emptied very badly! Kids found tide pools to explore.

“Day at the Beach”

Very secluded...could pretty much be alone if you wanted to be...went out at low tide so got to walk super far out...definitely do not suggest walking from the highway..it is about 2 miles..but doable if u like walking

“Wide open beach with off leash area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

Love the laid back style of this beach (anything on whidbey really) The beach is clean, has numerous wading pools for exploring and a long walk is available.
Parking does fill up fast and the beach gets very crowded on weekends but still a wonderful place.
