“What a find!”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

We had the pleasure of staying at the Manitou on April 11, 2013. What a cozy retreat!! We stayed in the Pocahontas room, with private access to the wrap around porch that is surrounded by the forests of large mossy trees and the greenest green foliage I have ever seen! So quiet and peaceful...we went in their off season so we had the main house to ourselves! Your breakfast is already in your refrigerator and there are plenty of refreshments for your convenience. The giant fireplace in the mainroom is enchanting and the decor is very eclectic with Native American touches all around. The homemade banana chocolate chip muffins were mouthwatering! Very quaint and just what we were looking for! We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Pocahontas room is very quiet and tucked away, but the bathroom is very small and so is the show...

I was looking for a place to stay in the area to make an early morning low tide hike at Rialto Beach and happened across Manitou and I'm so glad I did. Everything was super clean and cozy. Hanging out in the great room sipping cocoa and tea by the fireplace was a nice way to end the evening. And in the morning it was a quick little drive to the beach for an amazing tide pool experience. I think the only downside was that I only booked one night at the lodge. We would have loved to laze around an extra day and explore more of the property. Definitely be back!

We had the lodge to ourselves as we were traveling mid week during the off season and we felt right at home. There is no shortage of games and entertainment to enjoy in the main lodge in the event that you get caught in the rain or just want to relax in the main lodge. There were many complimentary items to enjoy that were well though out including tea/coffee/hot chocolate, towels to take down to the beach, internet, a blanket to curl up on the coach by the fire, etc. Although the rooms we on the small side, we spent the majority of the time in the main lodge which was quite cozy. We thought the location was ideal and the service was stupendous. Would definitely recommend or stay there again ourselves.

My family recently stayed at Manitou for two nights and really enjoyed it. My boys (ages 8 and 10) and our dog loved being able to explore the surrounding woods, and we all loved relaxing in the big lodge room in the evening -- playing games, drinking cider and cocoa, and (one night) enjoying burgers from one of the only nearby restaurants. The location is convenient to La Push beaches and Forks. With not much to choose from in the area, this is a very classy, comfortable, unique option. The host was very helpful and welcoming. Our room (Owl) was a bit snug for the 4 of us (+ dog and damp rain gear), but very comfortable, and we loved having the convenience of the mini fridge/microwave/toaster as well as the very generous daily breakfast baskets. Thanks for a great stay!

We couldn't have been more happy with our stay at Manitou Lodge. The level of care is present in the loving attention to detail all throughout the property. The ambiance of the great room is quite charming, and our stay in the Sacagawea room made us feel as comfortable as if in our own home, the bed was sooo comfy. The hosts were very pleasant and the prepared breakfast was a nice touch as there isn't much in the immediate area and overall dining in Forks leaves much to be desired. When we find ourselves in the area again we will definitely make a point of staying at Manitou Lodge.

Room Tip: Sacagawea is a great size for couples. the layout of the room places the entrance and bathroom behin...

Manitou Lodge is a very quiet place surrounded by trees that give you a fantastic view out your windows. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere that made you feel the place was your own home. It was wonderful sitting in the great room by the fire after a day of exploring. They were accomodating to my wife's dietary needs and we loved the breakfast basket. We could eat on our schedule and be on our way, just dropping the keys on the desk. After we left we found that we had left something at the lodge. A call to them and we were assured the missing item would soon be in the mail. We loved the place and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, no hassels getaway. We will be back.

We stayed in the eagle cabin and it was adorable. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. I thought the location was fantastic. It was within a half hour from all the major sites like the Hoh rainforest and Rialto beach. I was glad that I knew before the trip that the breakfast was prepared and in the fridge.
