We stopped close to noon on a Monday for lunch. We had heard that the Kalaloch Lodge had the Creekside Restaurant and decided to try it (after seeing the view). We were greeted in a friendly way and since the place was nearly empty were able to get a window seat.
We each ordered a salmon BLT. We did not expect perfection, but what we got was quite good. But, for $14.95 for a small sandwich it ought to be pretty good and that is what it was. The bread was a nice sourdough with a good crust. The bacon was nicely cooked (not overdone, but well cooked with no clear or translucent parts) and the salmon was acceptable. Tomatoes are no often perfect and that was the case with the tomatoes and the lettuce; both were acceptable. Also on the plate was some additional greens that included a cucumber slice and a pickle. The server (Darlene) was rather good and provided us with plenty of water.
Be prepared for the 9% state tax and then also for the 0.7% utility charge. Given the price of the food, to be asked to pay a small utility charge seems absurd. But such is life.
Bottom line: the food was quite reasonable, and the view was very nice. If you try this place, ask for a window in the curved-wall section, where the view is the best. Otherwise you look through folks who may be on the outside patio having their lunch and the best view of all. But, the patio has no shade, which is why we opted for indoor seating. [We did not overnight here in the lodge because we wanted to be closer to Realto Beach for a sunset there.]
