Description: It's no secret that the Pacific Northwest is home to a vibrant culinary scene. And Creekside Restaurant is proud to be part of it, serving up fresh, local fare alongside breathtaking ocean views. Creekside's talented culinary team delights travelers of all ages with everything from breakfast favorites to seasonal seafood dishes to special events like wine pairing dinners. Whether you're recounting the day's adventures or fueling up for another exciting day, we think you'll enjoy Olympic National Park's signature dining experience. One way we're proud to distinguish ourselves is by showing that great meals and healthy dining experiences can, and should, be one and the same. We provide calorie counts on our menu and offer a variety of healthy meal options. Equally important, all meat, seafood, eggs, dairy, and produce we serve are free of hormones and steroids, and all our food is free of trans fats. Local sourcing is also very important to us. During the growing season, at least 60% of all our food and beverages are either sourced within 150 miles, are certified organic, or both. Even our wine selection is local - every wine we serve comes from the state of Washington. Operating in such a beautiful place, we know that our responsibility to our guests and to the environment extends far beyond our walls. We're a proud supporter of the National Park Service's Healthy and Sustainable Food Program. Creekside sources its seafood locally, and adheres to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch guides for sustainability. Other key sustainability efforts include providing our used fryer oil to a maker of biodiesel, sending food and prep scraps to a local farm to use as pig feed, only serving water to guests when requested and recycling. Creekside is honored to be a Certified Green Restaurant.

We were seated close to a view window, but it was blocked by a post, we asked to be moved to another seat. The hostess was really nice and moved us to a booth that had a wonderful view. I had the fish and chips and he had the salmon burger, both were really good. The ice tea hit the spot. This place was very conveinent for us to stop at along the way for lunch. Waitress attentive and a nice little gift shop is there also.

We ate a lunch and a dinner here. The room was casual but nice, and some of the tables with the best view were for couples, which was good for us. There was a menu of cocktails made using products from local distillers, which was innovative and pleasing. And our lunch - one salmon burger and one beef burger - was entirely satisfactory. Lunchtime wasn't very busy, so our very pleasant server had time to chat a little bit with us, which we enjoyed.

Dinner was a different story. When we arrived for our 7:00 reservation, there were several other parties waiting , so we ended up not getting seated until about 7:15. During this time, I lost track of just how often we heard the hostess - a perfectly nice young woman who was obviously doing her best to cope - apologize for the disorganization and delays. Over the course of what turned into a very leisurely dinner because of the slow service, I continued to hear her apologize to other diners throughout the evening, as did the servers. We had nowhere to go and nothing to do, so it didn't bother us that things were so slow, but other diners clearly didn't feel the same way!

The food we ate - crabcakes, mushroom tart, salmon, chicken, creme brulee - was all really very good, and the beverage selection was fine, too. I just felt sorry for the front-line staff, who - from what I could hear of their conversation with other diners - were having to deal with lots of complaints about the slow service. As with our experiences on this trip with all of the Olympic National Park properties we visited - Lake Crescent Lodge, Sol Duc Hot Springs, Lake Crescent Lodge - it seemed that poor management and understaffing was the source of the problems we witnessed.

Staying at Kalaloch lodge, there are few options for eating out. The Creekside in the lodge building is right there. Some seats are near the windows affording a potential sunset dinner; ours was further in. The waiter was over-worked perhaps, seemed to disappear for a long time between visits and courses. The smoked salmon and local Locks plate was ok, not special, and small portions for a big price. Fish and chips could be had at a greasy spoon in any city of the world. The halibut was good. Wine list was quite limited. Dessert was welcome although again, average

We ate at this restaurant once before and it was great. This time, it was not that impressive, especially for the prices. From other reviews, looks like management of the restaurant has been changed...too bad. Of course, you cannot beat the view. Every seat has a view of the beautiful, wild Pacific ocean.

The King Salmon was fine, nothing impressive, though. The Yukon potatoes and veggies were fairly dry, bland and not like the first time we ate here. We ended with the fruit tart, sitting outdoors and watching the waves. The tart was probably the best part of the meal.

We will come here again, because the view is excellent. Hopefully, the kitchen will improve and come back up to the great meals, like we so enjoyed the first time visiting.

We used to come here all the time. Havent been in 2 years and man things have changed! 45 minutes to get lunch in a empty restaurant and that includes getting the appetizer and meal at the same time. We also got the bill immediately. No window seat. No asking for desert. Never picked up the check so we paid in cash. Never asked how we were doing.
