“A special place....”

This is the place to stay when visiting the Olympic peninsula. We had a glorious stay. The resort sits on a picturesque bend in the Sol Duc River. The location is ideal for visiting sites ranging from Lake Crescent to the Hoh Rain Forest... and the exquisite La Push area beaches are just minutes away. Each unit has a well-appointed kitchen and nicely furnished sitting area that is separated from the bedroom. Each unit also has a Weber Grill - which Linda helped us set-up so we could grill some local salmon. Speaking of Linda , she could not have been more helpful. When we arrived, she had printed out tide charts, local maps and directions for every possible activity and was quick to make insightful recommendations on timing and weather, Could not have been a better experience... To top it off, each morning and evening, we were greeted by a Bald Eagle sitting across the river from us...

We stayed only one night but my partner and I wished it had been longer. Our suite was inviting, clean and comfortable. The suite overlooked the river, which offered us the perfect view from our window. And we were no more than 20 minutes from La Push and the beaches nearby. The owner Linda made us feel right at home. Wonderful place. Next time it'll be longer.

We had only just arrived when a bald eagle swooped down to feed at the river's edge - what a start to our 3 night stay!
The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and has everything you may need.
Linda and Chip were great hosts with good suggestions for what to do - Second Beach, the Watershed trail off of the Undie Road.
Would love to come back someday.

We stayed at the resort for 3 nights this summer. We enjoyed the privacy of the location and its proximity to the beaches. We also enjoyed watching the wildlife on the river. It was a great place to unwind. It was nice having a kitchen because of the lack of quality dining in Forks. This is the best place to stay in this area and we hope to be back soon.

Linda and Chip are doing a great job managing this unique small suite motel-like resort. The grounds are spectacular. Each of the 5 available suites have river views and a terrace with chairs to relax in, grills for BBQing, hummingbird feeders with lots of hummers coming all day long. Inside is about the best appointed kitchen I have seen in a suite hotel. I used it one evening to make dinner and every day for breakfast. (reading other reviewers, I took the hint and stopped off at the Thriftway in Forks before coming to the QRR) I could have made dinner every night. The restaurants in Forks are not really very good. Well, to be fair, the Mexican restaurant we went to was good.

I loved the location for going to the beach. Rialto Beach was amazing. Bring flip flops or something waterproof to cross the very fast (and while we were there, high) stream that flows into the ocean between you and Hole in the Wall, where all the cool stacks and tidal pools are, and go at low tide! (See Pics) We spent July 4 in the Ho River Rain Forest... but no rain for us! We had blue skies from July 4 to July 14 when we left Washington. It rained a lot our first three days. We are not Twilight fans, so Forks held no attraction for us. The Forest and the Beaches though are fantastic. We spent July 4 night in La Push. It was Fireworks Chaos on First Beach with everyone putting on their own display. There were literally fireworks going off around us in every direction! Crazy!
Back at QRR we were happy for our tranquil and quiet setting. As most people say, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: Every room has the same great view.

It's great to have a kitchen out in the middle of Olympic National Park. The market in Forks have just about everything you'll need to make a gourmet meal. The kitchen is equipped with everything plus some basic spices (salt, pepper, Italian spices, cinnamon, and olive oil). There is a grill outside each of the unit.
It's advertised as a B & B, but they don't serve breakfast so make sure you bring something. There is coffee maker and hot water pot in the kitchen, and they do provide bags of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
The Resort was full, but we never hear anyone else except our neighbor who was cooking burgers on the lawn.
The resort is on the higher ground than the river, so you can't really get to the river and "play".
Our cell phone have no reception here in the ONP, but the wifi in the room worked so well that my son didn't want to leave resort.
I looked and looked, but didn't see any eagles or hummingbird.

The Qillayute River Resort is a slice of heaven! Eagles, hummingbirds, river otters - it was wonderful. We wish we didn't have a vacation schedule to keep - we would have stayed until it was time to go to the airport. We had suite #6 and it was spacious beyond expectations. The ktichen was very well equipped - staying for a week would have been very easy to do with no cooking trials. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on - even better than home. It's too bad we live on the east coast - Quillayute River Resort would be our "go-to" vacation spot every year if it didn't require plane fare.
