“Absolutely Enchanting”
Reviewed June 12, 2011

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about this place. It completely charmed us from the second we drove up and is perfect for anyone looking for total respite. We needed a peaceful weekend getaway and this hotel and its location were total de-stressing therapy for the both of us. The setting is beautiful and it's literally right on the river so every room has a completely unobstructed view of the river, forest, etc. The morning fog, afternoon sun, and river views are breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, spotless, complete with all necessary utensils, appliances, fireplace, separate bedroom with uber comfortable mattress, heated tile bathroom floors, flatscreen TV's, high quality toiletries, exceptionally well-insulated, and absolutely cozy. Rialto Beach, First, Second, and Third Beaches all close by and all absolutely a photographer's paradise! Romance? Check. Serenity? Check. Superior Customer Service? Check. Perfection? Check. Keep in mind if you're traveling to Forks, don't expect five-star dining....it's definitely a destination for nature lovers, romance seekers, beach fanatics, and those just seeking an all around slower pace and stress-free weekend getaway...and if you're a photographer, well...take one look at one of the nearby countless beaches and you'll have a hard time returning to the city ;) And if you're a foodie like me, bring some steak, wine, and what nots and cook up a storm in your own kitchen at the resort or use their outdoor bbq's.

Stayed here in March. It rained most of the time we were in the area but it was still a fun vacation. The resort is a long row of units that all overlook the river. The rooms are equipped with a stove, fridge, and all the necessary utensils. The theme is stylized, retro and functional. We bought groceries in Forks and made a nice dinner and enjoyed watching the river in the evening. There are grills and Adirondack chairs outside the rooms and a laundry open from 10-4 PM between two of the units. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Our first visit to Forks and we chose QRR - just a random internet find. And what a gem. Chip & Linda have thought of every detail - from quilts for the bed, quaint old fashioned kitchen appliances, well appointed kitchens, to the heated bathroom floor. It's those details and the location that made all of our visits worth repeating, and we did. It is the perfect place to unplug (I'm greatful for no bars on my phone), read a good book, walk along the river or into the pathways Chip and Linda maintain on the property. The hummingbirds in late spring were astounding - never before have I seen 10 birds on one feeder. And the final touch? The nesting pair of eagles across the river. Yup-we keep coming back.

These unbelievably clean cabins right on the river were a wonderful surprise for us. We were staying here on our way to somewhere else and would have planned a longer stay if we had known how nice they were. They were very comfortably furnished in a basic, no-frills way. The kitchens were immaculate and well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. We were right on the river and even saw a salmon jump out of the water, from our living room window. The area was very peaceful. We were 10-20 minutes from the ocean. The only drawback was that there were few services and good places to eat nearby. We could have brought more of our own food if we had realized that ahead of time. The proprietors were very nice.

Had a two night stay here as part of a 5 day tour of the National Park. After the first day we were tempted to extend our stay if only there had been no cancellation penalty at our next hotel.

Resort was in a really tranquil spot that was great for just chilling out in by the river and we wished we had more time for this.

Handily located for the gorgeous Rislto beach and for La Push. Whilst it's about 7 miles away from Forks it wasn't too much extra when visiting Neah Bay or Hoh Rain Forest.

Cabin was lovely. Well equipped for self-catering - almost better equipped than our kitchen at home.

However you'll need to go to Forks for food supplies.

Loved the place and would recommend.

We stayed at the Quillayute River Resort as part of a road trip around the Olympic peninsula. Chip and Linda Kean gave us a gracious welcome, and supplied us with useful local information such as restaurants in Forks, and tide tables for the beaches. The cabin style suites are a delight - everyone gets a lovely view of the river (a bald eagle landed a fish within minutes of our arrival), everyone gets use of a barbecue, everyone gets a taste of the wilderness (but with en suite bathroom within reach!). If its peace and quiet you want, this is the place. The kitchen is well furnished, the log fire keeps you toasty, and if you're lucky the hummingbirds will buzz around your head while you sip your beer overlooking the pretty garden and fast flowing river. Leaving here was terribly hard. Give yourself at least two nights if you can, if not more. I still check up on it regularly via the webcam, and dream about returning one day.
If you have time while exploring the area don't miss the Makah Tribal museum near Cape Flattery - it has fantastic displays and wonderful artefacts.

We meant to camp at Mora Campgrounds but after getting soaked trying to set up camp in the rain we all decided to go find someplace dry to sleep. Just down the road we found these cabins along the river. It was late in the evening but the friendly owners quickly readied a cabin for us. It was so comfy and warm. In the morning we were greeted by the most amazing scenery. We watched a pair of bald eagles play above the river then roasted marshmallows in their very nice fire pit that sits above the river bank. This place is an awesome, quite retreat in the winter!
