“Not a Twilight fan but ....”

Whether or not you've read/watched the Twilight saga, a couple of days touring this part of Washington state will be memorable. The hosts at Miller Tree Inn are wonderful and a restful stop-over is guaranteed. If you are a Twilight fan, I can only assume that you will be thrilled by the scenic backdrop. If you aren't, you will still love the scenery; just be prepared for the fans armed with cameras taking pics of your B&B! Great place to stay; as one previous reviewer commented, perhaps certain rooms could use a bit of a makeover. However, this will not detract from the overall experience.

We have stayed at B&Bs in the US and Europe. This is one of the best. The hosts are gracious: attentive, but not intrusive. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are clean and charming. We make it a point to visit about once a year and are always more than satisfied.

We spent one night here on our trip around ONP, and we are glad we did. Our family of four stayed in the Elk view room which was clean and spacious. Our teenage daughters are "Twilight" fans, but that was secondary to our decision to stay here. After reading other reviews on TA about MIller Tree Inn and doing research on other options in Forks, it became clear that this was the place to stay, and we were not disappointed. The owners are very nice and more than happy to give advice on restaurants and activities in the area. They served a delicious breakfast of orange french toast (yum!) the morning we were there. The Inn is in a quiet area off the main drag and in the late afternoon, elk can sometimes be seen grazing in the fields nearby. We stayed in Forks mainly to go to the beaches in and near La Push, Rialto Beach and Second Beach. Great tide pooling at Second Beach during low tide.... so many sea stars!

Forks is not the type of place where one can find decent hotels. Miller Tree Inn is by far the best option in this town. Bill and Susan are extremely friendly and can advice about activities and neighbourhood places to visit. Morning breakfast was excellent. This place was conveniently located to visit both ends of Olympic park, we could go to Lake Crescent and Lake Quinalt area and different beaches along the coast in 30-90 min.

We'd never been in this area, and just picked the Miller Tree at random. It proved to be a very pleasant surprise. We know nothing of "Twilight," but learned enough to make our granddaughter jealous. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were luxurious. We enjoyed seeing 15 elk grazing in the neighboring field, and appreciated the helpful tips for seeing the area, provided by our gracious hosts. There was one restaurant in Forks that provided us a couple of decent meals, but I would avoid the Chinese restaurant. You really only need a late, large lunch after the wonderful breakfast, and some snacks for Happy Hour. Evening dining is really not an option.

Forks has been, for as long as I've visited, a depressed area, and will likely continue to be; however, Miller Tree provides a break from that. It brings the comforts of home to someone who is on vacation. This is very much appreciated. Since I knew I wanted to spend some more time in Forks (to see the ONP), I decided to book Ella's suite for my friend and me for four nights.

Here's what I noticed:

The shower has been remodeled. It looks so nice, and the water pressure is excellent. There is abundant cabinet space. I loved being able to use that space to unpack my toiletries.

The fridge was of good quality. My friend and I bought a decent amount of food, and we had more than enough shelf space to store it. The complimentary sodas were extra nice.

The sitting area in the room is a nice place to relax. Since I spent more time sitting here than I did last time, I think it would have been nice to have had access to an ottoman. I should have asked, but maybe this can be placed in the room in the future?

Bedding and pillows were comfortable in both rooms, but I recommend you ask how to open up the couch in the smaller room. Bill expressed concern about the fact that didn't know how to pull it out. I thought that was kind of him to make his concern known. He offered to fix it for us, but we were fine. The couch itself was pretty comfortable. Those with low back issues may, however, prefer the bed.

The luggage racks and wicker table provided much needed space. We never felt cramped.

The sitting area, in the front, is very pleasant. The recliners are so comfortable. Take advantage.

Breakfasts were good. As a low carber I so appreciated the fact that the Bragers set out eggs and cheese on the days when a carb was the main dish. I was always more than satisfied.

The high school aged innsiters are very nice and will do anything to help, but you have to ask. They were happy to provide silverware/plates etc when we wanted to prepare our store bought food. I also noticed that they worked really hard. Watching them keep up with the never-ending loads of laundry suggests how much work running the B and B must be.

Thanks to the Bragers for another wonderful stay. My advice is to stay here, Twilight fan or not. It's very, very pleasant.

We scoured the Olympic Peninsula looking for a B&B that could accommodate our group of seven that includes 2 children (8 & 10), a single and two couples. My eighty-yr-old dad likes B&B's and since he pays for these trips we try to find him what he likes. This was literally the only place we could find.

Thankfully, the Miller Tree Inn is an oasis of vampire loveliness. The owners Bill and Susan have embraced the Twilight theme but not to the extent it would annoy you if you aren't fans. Only one in our party had even seen the movies so we did watch the first film so we would understand what all the hoopla was about. They stock all the films in each room!

Bill and Susan lay on a nice breakfast and did a wonderful job of feeding our one gluten-free person, making him his own gingerbread pancakes. They were also gracious in giving our carnivorous child extra sausage.

Bill gave us good tips about the area directing us to Second Beach in La Push as the best overall beach.

Forks lacks nice restaurants so if thinking about an overnight here, be advised your evening meal choices are skinny and not awesome. However if that does not concern you this is a great place for vampires and humans alike.
