“A pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

I did not think that I would get a room here, a whole load of twighlight fans trying to book. They stepped aside and managed to book a lovely room a way back from the road. Large room with very comfortable bed and view. WiFi very poor, but found out this is the same in the area. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would defiantly recommend this for the reasonable rate that I paid.

There were not a lot of options in the area so we went with it. No continental breakfast but there were two restaurants next door and a grocery store down the street. The pool looked good but we didn't use it (outdoor pool). Lobby had hot chocolate and coffee. Room was big and spacious. Bigger than a normal hotel room. Service in lobby was nice and good.

Front desk and maid staff so pleasant, all smiles and full of good information. Rooms are clean and well taken care of. Alot of updating in the last couple years, mostly exterior. We always make sure to have snacks and food in a cooler, hard to find a place to eat.

The motel itself was much like any other in the US. A bit on the dated side in terms of decor, but really clean. The internet was a bit flaky, and I don't think there were a huge number of TV channels, but it did fine for us - we were on a one night stopover on the way south. We had an unremarkable night in an unremarkable motel. Or that's what we thought. Just as we were checking out, my husband locked the keys to our rental car in the boot. Along with the documentation about what to do should we have any mishap. The lady behind the reception desk was amazing. Not only did she let us use her phone extensively to try to sort it out, she also called up her father and her husband (who had both come off night shift) to see if they could come over and help. She called the local garage to see if they had any ideas. We also had agood natter about TV shows that are on both sides of the Atlantic. We eventually got the car company to unlock the vehicle remotely (who knew that was possible?!), and she stood her friends and family down. She really was great, nothing at all was too much trouble, a really good example of the US customer service culture. I feel bad that it's taken me so long to write the review - this experience stands out as an enduring memory of our trip even a year later.

Had every intention of renting a room. Arrived approximately 1:00 p.m.. Walked in the door, the clerk looked at me, no greeting. I asked what the room rate was and was there availability. She said quite tersely. No availability as check in is 3:00. The end.

The lack of common courtesy was dismaying. Too many places with friendly people to ever consider staying at the Forks Motel.

We were staying there on August 2012. Forks is a tiny town and hotel is located on it's main street.
We've heard every vehicle passing that road so clearly, like they were driving next to our bed! Like that wasn't enough, later at night the group of bikers start riding up and down the street. Our bad was shaking!! Then we've heard police sirens, chasing bikers, then, naturally as they were gone, our next door neighbor start taking a shower and the sound of it was SO loud, we assumed there were something obviously wrong with their piping system. Overly, we didn't expect too much of small town motel, but c'mon, at least you should be able to sleep there. Also, as we just moved in, the room had very weird and unpleasant smell, like it was cleaned with strong chemicals long time ago and there was no ventilation to blow it out. We had to keep our door and window open for a while just to be able to breath there normally.

On the plus side. Nice place. Clean room, plenty of hot water, excellent heater, nice large thick towels and wash clothes, large spacious room, good bed and quiet despite being full.

Minus side. Internet very spotty (they warn you when checking in, which is a good thing). We had quite limited service the night were there. No breakfast. This is the first motel we've stayed for some time that did not offer breakfast. Fortunately there is one restaurant right smack across the street and one only a half block away.

Based on a comparison with a good number of places we've stayed in the past couple of years, this place is overpriced ($99.00), especially with no breakfast, questionable internet, an outdoor pool (limited use) and no spa.
