we visit this restaurant every four months. Out of all the Japenese restaurants in the Seattle area this one has the freshest seafood. Sometimes we sit at the sushi bar and watch the owner create edible works of art. They deliver you three appetizers prior to your order and all are strangly wonderful, in both texture and flavor. Table service is also good. There spider roll is to die for and the fresh abolone is killer. They allow you to bring in your own wine for 5% of your total bill.

Akasaka is a cross between a teriyaki joint and a Japanese restaurant; the food and price are standard teriyaki joint fare but the portions are HUGE and the addition of green salad, potato salad, and Korean banchan and kim chee (spicy pickled vegatables-these are REALLY good) made this an OUTSTANDING deal for the money.

The teriyaki chicken and steak are a great deal, we always have enough leftovers for another meal, all for about $12.00. There is a good selection of Korean food; the Kalbi ribs and Bulgogi (basically Korean teriyaki meat) were decent. There is a larger selection catering to true korean palates, though we were not familiar with the cuisine, but the food appeared to smell and look good and the portions were also generous.

The sushi is not very good, every time we have eaten it, it was very fishy and did not appear to be the freshest-we have had better sushi believe it or not at Blue Island (a roto sushi joint), though I don't expect it to be the quality of Fujiya or 2 Koi in Tacoma.

Overall a good solid dining experience!

With the sudden boom of sushi places in Federal Way, and we've tried them all, this is still the best place in Federal Way. By far the freshest tasting sushi and the most unique tasty rolls around. It's also the only place around that doesn't seem to use Krab in their rolls...

Their sushi is alright. You can definetely tsate the mayonaise which is less than satisfying, but the service is fantastic and its priced well.
