“Italian comfort!”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Great Italian comfort food! We stopped by chance passing through Ellensburg over the holidays. It was just like you would expect it to be in Italy. Little mom and pop place, friendly staff, and great food. We ordered two entrees and shared. Gnocchi with sausage and a chicken tortellini dish (don't recall the name). Both were delicious and freshly prepared. When I think Italian comfort food, I now think Morelli's. We will be back and recommend this to everyone.

“Good old-school Italian”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

We were hoping for food that was a little more inspired and health conscious, but were not disappointed with the flavors and overall experience.

I had my first dinner here after hearing countless comments about it being the best food in town (sometimes not a stretch in Ellensburg!). It was average. Just average. Not great, not bad. Just average. The menu is the first sign of trouble. For a tiny restaurant, about twelve tables, the menu is exceedingly long. Pages long. Diverse and far-ranging long. Which can only mean one thing - frozen food and a big microwave. Which is exactly what we got. The spaghetti had been pre-cooked, the ends obviously dried out and somewhat cold. The sauce was good, a little spicier than a usual house red sauce. The ravioli were grainy rather than creamy and had been boiled to a point of over-saturation and falling apart. The bread, provided halfway through the meal, was plentiful. The wine by the glass menu was limited to two whites and two reds - neither of the choice particularly exciting with Italian food. It would have been nice to see a more inspired pairing possibility - I think there is a much greater choice when ordering by the bottle (no wine menu). The atmosphere is...intimate. We spent more time listening to the loud college woman berating her dinner partner than enjoying our own conversation. All of this said, the sauces were pleasant, the waiter was quite cheerful and we had a good evening. Not bad, not great. Average.

Food was good, we had sandwiches priced about $8.00. Inside/outside seating both nice. Intimate (only 8 tables inside) make this hide-a-way both a pleasant surprise (unless a family with kids comes in:)

“Great Italian food”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

My wife and I dined here this evening and were as pleased with the food and service as we have been on other visits. My wife had the chicken piccatto and I had the chicken parmagian. The food was very tasty and came out with no delay. The bread was fresh and served with a marinara sauce. You would swear they bake it here,. We had the "rusty horseshoe" merlot, which is a local and really nice wine. We shall return!
