Had recently the opportunity to sample what Demetri's had to offer and very glad I went. The restaurant is steps away from the Edmonds WA ferry terminal and the beach. Went on a Saturday night and was wise to make reservations. Ended up with a window seat on what turned out to be a nice sunset. The restaurant has a full bar and lists some creative libations as well a nice assortment of beers and wines in their menu. Anyone should be able to find something to get the visit started. The restaurant is known for their extensive tapas menu as well as full plates. My dinner date and I chose to sample the tapas. We selected patatas bravas, calamari tenders with a garlic and serrano aioli dip, serrano ham on a fresh tomato grilled crostini, and gyro sliders. We had also ordered tortilla de patatas, but alas, they were out by 7:00 PM on our visit. We wondered if four plates were going to be sufficient and they did fill us up. For dessert we shared a key lime pie tart. Our server was excellent and took good care of our dinning needs. The place does get a bit noisy. The building that now houses this restaurant use to be where I went often to purchase parts for my Triumph TR4-A over 40 years ago.

Right off the batt we were greeted with a very snotty young dark haired hostess dressed like a hooker. After we got over that the meal was amazing and the location is even better. The best beet salad I have ever tasted. I would go back - just hoping they will change managers

Location is a challenge (right next to the train tracks but a great view of the Edmonds ferry and Puget Sound) and staff could be a little more consistently friendly, but the menu is amazing and the choices many. I dare you not to find something you would like! Prices aren't bad. A group can order several tapas and it's a meal. The sangria they served on Cinco de Mayo day was better than what I make at home. And as with most restaurants, it would be nice if they served a FULL glass of wine!

The name says Taverna, but the menu shouts Tapas. We have been there at least six times and haven’t come close to working our way through the menu. The cuisine is a Mediterranean fusion with something for everyone. There is a multitude of small dishes and a number of large dishes. Their large dishes are moderate in size and you can enjoy a number of items without being stuffed. The only minor shortcoming is that dishes will come out helter-skelter and not spaced and not necessarily in the order that you want them. All the dishes are fairly fast, so we have found the best way is to slow down, relax and put up your selections/courses one at a time.
