We had some delicious pastries and good coffee at this bakery. Their property includes a nice picnic table area outside, and since the weather was nice we sat there to enjoy our purchases and let our daughter play in the yard. Nice.

Delectable quiches with flaky crusts, buttery moist scones, chewy cookies with slightly crisp edges... This beautifully designed bakery has mouthwatering treats akin to Macrina or Tartine without the pretentiousness of the big city. The espressos deserve highest of praises as well. The humble owners, David and Lee, have established something very special on Orcas that will thrive for many years to come.

The breads & pastries are made with love and the staff are very friendly. It's hard to decide where to sit - by the open kitchen to watch them work their magic or outside in their lovely garden

Bakery goods did taste good, and the building itself is adorable. However the 2 individuals serving the public were not friendly- as if the customers coming through the door were an inconvenience to them. In addition they do not offer bathrooms to paying customers. Indoor seating is very limited but there is nice outdoor seating(again limited).

After only one (too brief) experience at Brown Bear Bakery, this delightful shop keeps calling us back. If we lived on the island, it could easily become a habit! It is very apparent these folks take pride in what they do as they lovingly described different items on display. Artisan baked goods were visually appealing and it was really difficult to decide what to eat, but we opted for a slice of their quiche and then couldn't resist going back to the counter because we just had to try one of the savory scones - both very dee-lish ! The coffee and espresso were also very good (had refills on those too, since it was a pretty chilly day). Yes, it is small inside with limited seating, but we enjoyed sitting at the big table with a few other folks and admiring the shop's inviting atmosphere
