This is a north-facing property at the base of a hill, and in the Northwest that means dark, gloomy, and to my wife and me, depressing. Although the water is clear, the bay serene, and the pebbly beach appealing, the tiny cabin we rented was unacceptable. "Rustic" should not be defined by Salvation Army furniture, dust bunnies dancing in the corners, and a 300 sq. ft. mossy, overgrown cottage divided into odd, tiny cubicles. The "resort" nature of Beach Haven consists of a horshoe pit, a walking trail, and a few row boats for rent at $39.00 per day. It is definitely not a "resort" by conventional standards.
We reserved and paid for five days, stayed three and left. We will not return.
