We have been going to Sucia for 35 years. We continue to marvel at the beauty of this magic island. The State of Washington runs a family friendly and lovely boating paradise with two docks, multiple mooring bouys and many camping areas and picnic areas. As there is no access other than by boat the people taking advantage of Sucia are all boaters and cherish the environment and appreciate the beauty.

This was a boat access island and is worth the effort to visit. Park camp sights picnic sights and water available. They even had compost toilets. We ended up visiting twice during our week long stay on Orcus Island.

You have to arrange your own boat transportation to get here, but so worth it! Bring your boat here and anchor or fetch a buoy in any of the great coves available on the island!

A gorgeous island with some of the best hikes ever, and great temperatures year round. 40-75 degrees although a little rainier during the Winter of course.

It can be challenging to get to Sucia Island, but it is worth the effort. Fantastic rock formations along the shorelines are a highlight of the place. Joining a multi-day kayak camping tour might be the best way to see the unique geology.
Be cautious if you paddle out there alone, if you don't have the right skills then you can get into trouble very quickly. The Strait of Georgia, just north of Sucia, is a big place, and any wind in the Straits can quickly turn the waters into a frothy mess. This is one place where it might be best to use a guided trip, unless you are quite skilled at sea kayaking.

There is fresh water available for most of the summer, but it is best to check before you go. Sometimes the wells dry up.
