“Idyllic”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

We rented bikes and rented a boat out to Sucia Island. It was early in the season and rain was forecasted for the day, so the island was almost completely empty. We had our own private island. We rode our bikes on the wide and well-groomed trails, which were perfect for our young children. We spent hours at the many beach areas and enjoyed the marine life we found there. We took some hikes and just had a relaxing day. It was our favorite day of our 10-day vacation.

“Best Island Hideaway In the San Juans”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

Access is only by priavte boat. We used to sail there every Easter, someimes in good weather ... sometimes not. We've anchored in various locations but our favourite is the snug little Ewing Cove. There are several mooring bouys and anchoring spots. Go deep into the cove but no so far as to end up swinging in the surge that might come through the small pass inthe north side. If the weather is from the Southeast, drop your hook in Shallow bay on the Northwest side. Lots of places to poke around in your dinghy, or hike the trails. Some camping is permitted on the island. Check out the fossils in, where else, Fossil Bay.
