I have stayed at Sun Lakes twice with members of my fly fishing club. The cabin we rent has an separate bed room. This means there are two rooms plus a small bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed. The great room has a double bed, a single bed, and a futon. The beds, except the futon, come with all necessary linen. There are no cooking or eating utensils in the cabins. The only items in the kitchen are refrigerator, stove, and toaster. Four of us stayed in each cabin.
The plumbing is serviceable, but in poor condition. While we were there (4 nights) the shower head broke off, the bathroom faucet was partially plugged, and the kitchen faucets would rotate a fill 360 degrees, shutting off at two locations in the circle.
The cabins do feature an air conditioner/heater, which is useful.
In general, the cabin is fine for our group because we are gone all day fishing. the resort does provided swimming, boating, golf, and miniature golf, so I suspect a family could find plenty to do during the day.
My concern regarding this property is the generally rundown condition of the cabins, and the lack of amenities such as cookware and eating utensils. Still, if you are looking for an inexpensive vacation with many activities close by, it may well suit your purposes. For what my fly club does there, I would return.
