Disappointed they are not serving root beer any more. Food is okay but always a good crowd. Local owner cares about business & it shows.

Local pickers provided music from the heart. Bartender was amazingly efficient. Food was a cut above other local fare.

Wish we lived closer! A great place to try a new brew and discover some new favorites. Very homey, local pub feel, decent food, and it's a family-run business. Well worth a stop on any trip along Hwy. 20.

The brewery is a popular hangout for locals after a hard day's work and especially on Fridays. I'm not a drinker so I can't attest to the home-brew. There's a little war going on over the presence of the brewery. Historically the residents were proud to claim their community was one of the rare ones in this country that didn't sport a tavern. When the brewery went up so did the petitions to stop it. At one time they had burgers and other easy fare but the disgruntled in the community used it against the brewery, trying to shut them down with lack of "restaurant" permits, health violations, etc. When I stopped in for a "good sandwich" one day I was told they would "fix me" a cold sandwich if I wanted but they were "not", I repeat NOT a restaurant. I did pay for the sandwich but won't be going back as there is nothing else for me. They do have home brewed Root Beer which was indeed a pleasant experience and they're always adding and improving what they have....outside tables, fun get togethers ("Birdstock") that are enjoyed by the locals and communities "upriver" (further up the river into the mountains) and tourists headed up and over the beautiful North Cascade Pass.
