This is a great rental. We were traveling with my kids and extended family. One of which who cannot manage stairs that well. The house is very accommodating in that it has a full bedroom and bath downstairs. The kitchen and eating area are amazing and there is plenty of firewood for nice fires. The kids loved walking on the beach and discovering. It was a great stay!

“Absolutely perfect in every way”
Reviewed February 10, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

I stayed at Heron's Crossing with a group of folks for a business retreat. This was our second stay at Heron's Crossing and was the perfect place for us to regroup, reflect and recharge. The space is perfect for a small gathering (there were 6 of us) and we had plenty of room to work, and to play. This has become our "home base" as all of us work remotely from various parts of the world and gather once a quarter for planning. Ralph is a wonderful host and is always available to answer questions, or for just a quick chat. Hope to be back for the next quarterly meeting!

“It felt just like home!”
Reviewed November 11, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

A group of extended family members had high expectations for our stay at Heron's Crossing and we were not disappointed! When we arrived on a gorgeous afternoon we were met with a well appointed home, clean and welcoming. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with everything utensil needed to prepare meals during our stay, we loved the scenery out the beautiful windows facing the bay. The bedrooms were roomy, well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom linens were luxurious and the second story where there are 4 bedrooms was comfortable with large, exceptionally accommodating for a large group. We took advantage of the massages offered by the caretaker's wife.......they were exceptional as well. All in all we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay, we will return many times in the future!

“A real "sit-back-and- put-your-feet-up" kind of relaxation with wonderful beachfront to enjoy”
Reviewed August 3, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Just a gorgeous place to gather together with a few friends and family and have a relaxing time. The views are incredible, the caretakers are wonderful, and it was a place I hated to leave. Comfortable charm... reminded me of a favorite place in Nantucket...only not as expensive! Close to great food, fun shopping, wonderful hikes, and a great place for naps. The furnishings are wonderful. Each guest room is well appointed and the beds are so comfortable. The worn Oriental rugs remind you that people have been relaxing in the home for many years.

“Perfect Sanctuary for a Family Get Away”

Heron's Crossing exceeded every expectation we had about our planned family retreat. We were welcomed by friendly caretakers upon arrival and were immediately made to feel comfortable. Heron's Crossing really does have a "home sweet home" feel and within minutes of entering the front door we were "vacationing". There was plenty of space to spread out and every bed provided a great night sleep. The location is unparalleled. It feels very much like you have a private beach. Young and old can walk the beach, wade in the warm shoreline waters, watch kite surfers and paddle boarders, along with an evening kayak float. Our kids are already asking to return next summer and we hope to make that wish come true! We highly recommend Heron's Crossing for those looking to relax and enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets from your private perch on Useless Bay.

“Enjoyed our Stay immensely - Thank You!”
Reviewed June 28, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

It simply couldn't have been better! We had family visiting from Wyoming and Colorado and we celebrated two June birthdays while we were together. It was a very special and memorable time for us at Heron's Crossing. We enjoyed our time outside watching the wildlife and the cruise ships and various other vessels making their way through the passage. The location of the home was ideal with lots of windows to take in the view and allow the sunshine to come in. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed relaxing mornings at the sunny dining room table that accommodated all of us, The bedrooms were all unique and very comfy. The views from the upstairs rooms were fantastic and created a very relaxing and calming atmosphere. We so appreciated having a bedroom on the main floor for our parents so they could enjoy their stay without having to climb stairs. I cannot wait until we have our next opportunity to book Heron's Crossing. It is a very special vacation rental that all will enjoy!

Liked best: The whole experience was superb.
Liked least: A little bit of trouble making contact for access arrangements ahead of our visit but it worked itself out just fine but did have a few anxious moments when I couldn't make contact with anyone.
