The cabins are behind the store. My husband and I drove up to look before we commited. The man yelled at us and was rude even after I apologized and told him we just wanted to look at the cabin. We never got out of our vehichle or anyway did anything to give him the impression we were going to damage or harm a thing. We are both over 55 and drive a new toyota mini van. Doubt we looked like thiefs or vandals. We left quickly wondering what the heck was that all about.

We stayed in one of the cabins at Lost Resort this fall because we expected it to be too rainy for good tent camping. That was the case and we were super-glad to be in a cabin. The cabin was snug and very clean with a nice cedar smell. The heater worked well, although it was a little noisy. The closest water was at store where you check in--Not a long walk but too far to be convenient. They supplied a container for about a days worth of water but no one rounded to fill it or check in. There was a fire pit but no grate and a picnic table.

The guy who checked us in was civil but in no way friendly. He gave us the keys with no instructions. He said he would have filled the water if he had known we needed it. He was unhelpful with regards to information about the area/activities nearby.

Overall the campgrounds were pretty and clean but there was nothing extra to merit the title "resort". They charged us $7.50 per night extra for each of our kids, in addition to the base 65$/night for the cabin--All in all for 80$/night I would have expected more.

The Lost Resort is simply an excellent campground. My true love is backcountry backpacking so I often find car campgrounds completely intolerable. But in a group of 8 with 4 young kids this was the perfect spot. The sites were very well maintained, private, and welcoming. It turns out there were lots of other people there but I didn't even notice that until I drove around the loop on our way out. The general store and cafe has everything you forgot or just what you need if you don't want to cook. Plus Wi-Fi! You're only 1/4 mile from Lake Ozette and we all walked from our campsite, out to Cape Alava, and back with plenty of time on the beach. It was really a spectacular trip. The cabins looked pretty good, too, especially if you want a coastal trip during rainy weather.
