We read a few of the reviews about this place, we stopped by the winery because it was pouring rain, if you are into sauces, dips and dressings, this is a dream place to shop. The lady that was pouring the wine was very versed in their wine. We ended up going back to try the BBQ, we ordered the ribs, one would think they would offer the different sauces that they sell in their store, not the case. The ribs were good, fall off the bone, but we didn't taste much smoke, and the BBQ sauce was lacking, the baked beans were dry like we got the bottom of the pot. There's not much of a view because the dining area is behind their building. There has got to be a better place for BBQ than this place.

This is my favorite BBQ place on the west coast. Their meat is smoked over apple wood giving a great flavor and they have the best coleslaw I have ever had. Their wines are excellent. The Stormy Mountain red wine compliments the BBQ very well. This is a must have when in Chelan! I never miss this place when I am in town. Finish off with strawberry shortcake. Their hours are limited. 4pm to 8pm daily. Unfortunately they are seasonal from about May to October but the wine shop is year round. It is all outside seating in the vineyard. Check their website for fun events. The Falling Cow event in June is annual and is fun. Don't miss this place!

We were looking for something "different" for dinner while on vacation and decided to try the BBQ at the winery. After all, we love wine and even if it were simply burgers and fries it would be nice to be out in the great weather while sampling some of the local wines. Instead, we were pleasantly surprised and had a great meal coupled with some good wines. The menu included such things as pork ribs, salmon, prawns, mushroom swiss burger, and one of the best bratwursts I've ever had. As for the wines, they were good. I can't say they were the best I've ever had, but they were pretty darn enjoyable as demonstrated by the two cases we bought!

Cost/person: About $25/person, which included four glasses of wine.

Child friendliness: Below average
- There were a couple of child friendly items on the menu (grilled cheese, hot dog)
- While you sit outside, which is awesome, it would be helpful if the kids had more room to run around or were more free to do so. The only concern here is that they understandably don't want the kids running through the vineyard or possibly damaging the grapes by throwing toys, etc.

Duration: Depends on if you do the wine tasting
- With wine tasting and BBQ plan on 3 hours
- For just the BBQ plan on 1.5 hours

Recommendations:
- Definitely go! The setting is nice and it is a welcome respite from the restaurants downtown.
- The food was very good. I highly recommend the ribs and the skirt steak.
- Do dinner and then the wine tasting. The obvious reason is that it is better to drink on a full stomach but the less obvious reason is that you will beat the rush. Many people arrived and did the wine tasting first and then hit the BBQ area. We already had our meal by then and when we were ready to taste wines the crowd had thinned out!
- Bring something for the kids to do. Video games may or may not work since much of the sitting is outside in the sun.

Goods:
- The food was very good. There was a nice selection on the menu and it was well cooked. We were pleasantly surprised given that we anticipated something much less in quality and finesse.
- The setting was idyllic. It's hard to beat a good BBQ outside in the sun and a vineyard! The only way it could have been bettered were if you were able to see the lake from the BBQ area.
- The wine tasting was definitely low-pressure. There was no cost to taste four wines, which is unusual in our experience. Usually there is a nominal fee but not here.

Bads:
- The service for the meal was definitely below average. It was so bad that they forgot to bring us the wine with our entrees until we were almost done and ended up giving us the wine gratis.
- The wine was pricey for its quality. Although good, it wasn't the best rated wines so paying $20/bottle was a bit much.
- The parking lot! Although there was an employee at the gate, he did little more than simply watch the near collisions! The parking lot is laid out poorly so if you go, I recommend that as you enter go past the parking spots immediately on your left to the next group on your left. They were less crowded and definitely much easier to use.

If you are visiting Chelan, I strongly recommend that you try the BBQ and wine tasting at Lake Chelan Vineyards. Whether you go as a family, a group of friends, or as a couple it is a wonderful way to spend an evening.

Second time even better than the first. Wine and cheese tasting, outdoor covered seating, and free roam of the vineyard. Good wine selection and BBQ cooked onsite. Great family feel.

Nice gift shop and nice grounds out back. We did not taste wine here - seems we could not get the employees attention other than a "hello" when we walked in.
