Wife's request for a medium rare prime rib came as well done, but was nicely seasoned. She also had mashed potatoes with country gravy and green beans which were okay. I had six butter sautéed large shrimp which were quite good as was the baked potato, and the green beans were average.

Looking for an "upgrade" from Denny's across the street? Head on over to Kit Carson! We had the $18 grilled salmon dinner with veggies and the spaghetti w/meat sauce (ground meat in the sauce, but no meatballs are offered) dinner with salad. They had a nice selection of pies for dessert but we were too full to try any of them. Bottom Line: great service in a nice country setting with good hot food. A very welcome diversion from the usual roadside fare.

i'm hoping the day we visited for lunch was simply an 'off' day for the cooking staff.

when the table in back of us asked to send their soup back cause it wasn't hot (or warm), the server saw that the pot the soups was in wasn't turned to the appropriate setting of 7. so she nuked the two cups. we also overheard that their coffee hadn't been hot, either.

so when hubby was served his chili-burger, and found the burger overly done and the chili not to be very warm, he just ate it. who wants overly nuked chili-burger??

the tuna sandwich i ordered was perfect. gotta say, the home made bread? is about one inch thick. i had to discard one slice, which left a slice thicker than if i'd had two normal slices.

have to say, tawni was the best. i am a pepsi fanatic, and she kept my pepsi glass filled. her attitude and great humor was wonderful.

when you're on a road trip, it's great when you meet folks that are friendly and treat you like you're a 'regular' and not someone that they know they'll never see again.

Entered the restaurant and we were not greeted. Finally a waitress pointed to a table and said we should sit there. We asked about the rib eye special that was advertised on the website and were told they had no such special. Asked what red wines they had and were told they were out of wine - even the kind in a box. My husband ordered the rib eye steak dinner and he received a gristle, fatty piece of meat. I ordered a breakfast eggs, hash browns and a scone. The scone was so hard it could not be cut with a table knife. The ice tea we ordered was forgotten until I stopped the waitress on her way to another table. Terrible service from a sassy waitress, terrible food, Would never go back there again

Entered the restaurant (and I use that word loosly) and were not greeted with "how are you, how many". The waitress motioned us to the back of the restaurant with her head. She acted as if we should know exactly what we wanted even though it was our first time (and last time) there. Food obviously came out of a package. Frozen tiny shrimp had NO taste, the oysters were heavily breaded and had no taste. When we sent the food back, our bill was finally adjusted and the bill was slapped onto the table with no apology for our experience. We drove straight to Applebee's only 2 miles away and were treated like guests - like a real restaurant staff should act. This place needs to be on undercover boss so that the business model can be examined.
