First trial of this place was on a Sat. afternoon between errands, and needing a sandwich and a beer. Wow, what a great atmosphere. Owner has been in the diving business in Seattle area for years. So there are great antique brass diving helmets on the walls and wonderful maritime antiques everywhere. The light menu has great salads with home made dressings and a small selection of sandwiches. I had a Chicken Cesare Salad with a great light garlic dressing, and my husband had their ham and Tillimock Cheddar Pannini. Both selections were great. They have a whopping 42 beers on tap.
Since that time we have meet there with family over the holidays and again after work on a Friday for a brew and light meal. Their Plowman Platter is loaded with meats, cheeses, breads and pickles, and big enough for a meal or for four to share as snacks with a round of beers. Their Clam Chowder is hearty and wonderful with lots of potatoes and bacon as well. Their Chef salad is not one from the tired days of old chefs, quality turkey and ham, avocado, fresh crisp bacon, and romaine greens. I've not tried their Reuben, but it sure looked great from across the table, and our guest said it was very tasty. This place is definitely a step up in pub grub.
For a little extra fun, they are participating in the Elysian Brewing Co. of Seattle's Beer Release called the 12 Beers of the Apocalypse, a new beer coming out on the 21st of every month of 2012. So, for extra fun, call the Devilfish for the date of the next release. "The End is Beer"
