I liked the quirkiness of this place, but some things were very good and some were very bad. The good: decorations, bathroom situation, some employees were great, food was good, nice touches like robes and earplugs.
The bad: My 9 year old son and I stayed in a bunk room (room 7). It was HOT. So sweaty hot! No windows, no fan, no control. I went to the front desk (where the semi-rude desk person once again declared I couldn't go to the bar--once again, I wasn't headed there). I told her about the heat situation and she basically told me there was nothing that could be done. I really didn't know what to do. I left the doorway to the hall open in the evening (no privacy) and feeling clauterphobic and sweaty, my son and I suffered through the night. I expected noise (there was lots from the restaurant), but I didn't expect an uneasy, trapped, hot feeling. We didn't sleep. The next morning I told the morning desk person our troubles, and she was more than apologetic. Where was she the night before?
Other than the extreme heat (I'm talking like HOT) the food was good, but restaurant feels dirty (but I often have that feeling in a McMenamins).
Will I stay there again? Yes, but ONLY in a room with a window so I don't have that scary, trapped, baking in an oven experience (only made worse by an employee who makes it clear that she doesn't care.)
