This is a great family get away for a long weekend. Beware, though, they have figured out how to access the Parental Wallet at every turn. Add ons, extras etc. Research what you want before you go and you can get in and out with all the fun you want and keep the costs manageable.

We did the breakfast option, saving us $12/day, MagicQuest wand but no upgrades etc.

The room itself was the KidKamp option. separate bunk area for the kids. Room was clean, large and had a nice couch to relax on. When came back to the room tired everyday we had places to lounge in between stuff to do.

Definitely good for kids under 12. Our 12 year old had a blast but the 10 year old had more fun. Older one is getting too "cool" to do things like MagicQuest. I think the best age range would be 5-11. Big enough to enjoy the full place, young enough to buy into the magic of the surroundings. We saw lots of under 5s being chased around by tired looking parents. Seemed a bit of a waste of $$ to us. The MagicQuest is great but unless you have a couple siblings to help read and understand things you as a parent will helping. Again, we saw lots of tired looking parents chasing their kids around doing the quests.

Room Tip: Extra bunk rooms have a great theme but don't offer sound proofing of the kids from adults. Ext...

I am currently writing this review as I lay in my hotel room of our first night staying at The Great Wild Lodge. This place is perfect for a family vacation! Our 4 year old twins loved the water slides, had a blast in the wave pool, very much enjoyed the arcade, and love running through the halls with their wands getting wall hanging & decorations come to life! And we have 2 days left!! Husband & I are already talking about when we can book our next trip!

Huge chuck e cheese with a water park and a hotel comparable to a holiday inn. The lifeguards are very diligent and the place seems well run but it's definitely a resort geared for children's uncritical tastes. I took three 10 yo boys and they loved it. Given the cost of this place I'd rather save for a trip to Hawaii. It's not horrible, just chuck e cheesy and expensive. Big plus is the fridges in the room-- bring your own food and drink. Also noted great wifi service and excellent 4G service in the area.

Before making our trip to great wolf lodge this week I read some reviews that made me a bit nervous, cold water? big crowds? unfriendly staff? noisy rooms? None of these issues happened to us at all. It's a children's resort, so expect a lot of kids running around and understand that you take this type of trip for your kids. Every staff member we encountered was courteous, friendly, and helpful; they understand that they're running a kids destination and act accordingly. The water park is awesome, the water was not cold at all, when you walk in the warm air and humidity hit you like Atlanta in July, almost forcing you to get in the water. All of the slides were fun with some short lines mid week, the tornado is the best, don't skip that one. We had dinner at Camp Critter and were very happy with the quality, a buffalo burger and steak sandwich; we also had a couple drinks with dinner and just like at Disneyland they do not believe in a short pour, too often resorts do not understand this. The room was immaculate and furnished nicely for the theme, the ice cream kids body wash from the spa was a nice touch. I took a walk through the conference center and was shocked at how big it is, this would be a really unique location for a meeting or conference. My three year old daughter loved story time and the clock tower show. The arcade was fun, a bit more expensive than most but still fun. Great Wolf is a unique concept geared completely towards kids, it's all about them. Most activities do cost some extra money, you should expect that going in, but know there are plenty of free or included entertainment options if you look for them. I was skeptical going in to this trip, my wife kept pushing it and I am glad she did, we will definitely be going back for more fun in the future.

This hotel is definitely geared for families with kids. The rooms were spacious and there were lots of activities on-site. The indoor water park is fabulous if all the rides are working. We played for two days and were lucky that on the first day everything was functioning properly. On our second day (Oct 13/13) the lift for the multi-group inflatables was inoperable, meaning that Howling Tornado and River Canyon Run were both not working. The wave pool was also offline for a considerable period. This would have been a huge disappointment if it was our only day here. We travelled with 4 kids and they LOVED the MagiQuest. When travelling with small children, some bad experiences may be the result of line-ups and crowds. We were able to avoid the huge breakfast line-ups at Loose Moose by arriving early; also try to time your lunch for non-peak hours if possible to maximize your fun.

My family was so excited to enjoy our trip. That quickly deminished as the entire checkin process was like being hearded like cattle only to find out they were checking in later than advertised. We were given our water park passes and then charge for a tiny locker to try and stuff all our stuff in. We spent two hours in the waterpark before we got our room were significantly more time was spent in lines than in the water, however this was the best part of the stay. The beds were horibly uncomfortable and one cup of coffe for a room for 6. They charge for EVERYTHING. Will not be returning

This was our 4th time in 3 years and I must say the experience this time SUCKED.The water was cold, the room was O.K.,the buffet restaurant was a mistake and the lines for Starbucks was NUTS.The waitress in the buffet was more concerned with how many people was at our table and how old the kids were,we has 10 all together, not once did she remove dirty plates or offer refills, the food was cold and so was most of the staff. The characters came out 3 times each day for about 5 minutes and we were charged for things on our bill that made NO sense. My kids and grandkids had fun once they got used to the Luke warm water but then again they didn't have to pay the over $700.00 bill! Thank GOD for the Lucky Eagle Casino up the road at the GRAND BUFFET,the food was AMAZING and the price was PERFECT.We had dinner Sunday night for all of us 5 Adults 2 12 year old and 3 under 5 total cost $90.00 drinks included and the server was VERY attentive.Breakfast Buffet at the Lodge $130.00 plus drinks so you do the math! They used to have a shuttle to the casino but not no more, why I asked and the girl at the counter said because the restaurant would stay empty cause everyone went there to eat DUH!Save your money find something else to do BOOK a hotel in Oregon by WINGS and WAVES for a WEEK and you'll have more fun than 1 night at that MONEYPIT.Great Wolf Lodge you took my money for the LAST time.
