The Parker House was recommended to us by friends, so we booked a reservation for Mother's Day. We were quickly seated, and drinks brought to us in a timely manner. Our server was simply fantastic! She had a great sense of humor, and handled Number Two stepson well ( he can be trying to waitstaff!).
There were four of us, and we all had various forms of steak: We finally settled on two Prime Ribs and two Rib Eyes. We also had two salads and two clam chowders.
Bread came out with soups and salads. The bread was a small Italian wanna be loaf, but was unremarkable. It also was lukewarm, and not hot.
The salads were equally unremarkable, but OK. The wife said they would have been better served by having the dressing in a little cup on the side, as she felt she had too much dressing on her salad.
The clam chowders were home made, and really shined! The kids said they were outstanding.
The steaks were all good: The Prime Rib was well seasoned, the pieces were good sized, and nicely thick. I was quite happy with mine! The Rib Eyes were outstanding. Tasting the Rib Eyes, the wife said she would order that next time.
The baked potato was OK, but again, not outstanding.
Ditto desert: The wife said the cheesecake was OK, but nothing super special.
The other three said they thought the decor could be a bit more up scale in line with the price, but I disagree. I think it was fine, and it's a HUGE transformation from what the Rose Tree was!
All in all, it was a better dining experience than most places, and I will gladly go back again.
