we came here on a saturday late morning,no reservations. We had the place practicility to ourselves except for the workers, had a leisurely hot soak and wrap for 25.00, It was amazing the workers were so attentive and friendly. The building is old and the bathtubs are original so that adds to the charm, but if you are looking for hoooty tooty you wont find it here but it was perfect for us.

We finally tried some different rooms at the resort. The ole suite attached to the old building was very rustic and a bit too rustic for us. We did appreciate the large jacuzzi but it was is a dark room off to the side. The best thing about this room was there are two separate sleeping areas. There is also a small kitchen to use to save on dining out. The main bedroom looked out to the scary area where a dryer vent had shot lent all over where it resembled a zombie movie and had one queen bed. The TV didn't work except for DVD use. At our request we moved to one of the recently opened wind river rooms which was cheaper than the suite. The jacuzzi was 2-3 people and filled with the mineral water is on balcony looking over woods and wind river. The room was clean and comfortable and comes with cable TV. We went and got dinner to go from the bungalo tavern which has good burgers and great fried chicken with the always entertaining local scene.

We use to stay here in the cabins. But now it looks to sterile for me. The bath house , etc is excellent and the folks who work there deserve praise.. But no food except at the golf course? The blue berry pancakes at the old restaurant were excellent but now plastic food. Yummy.

Room Tip: Just another of those new nothing hotels.

Had reservations and pulled into the property at 9:30 p.m. No clearly marked office sign, no lights on, no staff on-site. My friend called the hotel number twice and got a recording. Left message that we didn't know how to check-in. Left the area thinking we had wrong hotel but came around again for another try. Still no call back from left message. Luckily when we returned there was a car parked out in front and someone waiting for his wife (employee) who had come back to check on something. He showed us the "late check-in" envelopes taped to a door which though not marked was the "office". Later when friend checked her voice mail, she had received a call from someone saying "if you haven't found the hotel yet, call me back". CRAZY! Office staff not in til 9 a.m. and leave early. We had early starts every morning so didn't see a real employee until 3rd night there when we returned around 7:30 p.m. Rooms were clean but no phone (no TV but ok with that). Had ice machine but not operating. I was on second floor but no elevator, what if I had had mobility problems? wasn't mentioned at reservation point. Will not be back.

My husband and I stayed in a king room with the mineral hot tub. Room was clean and the bed was so comfortable-I would love it at home! Private balcony with tub and a lovely view of the forest. Bald eagles soaring nearby. Very relaxing. Be aware no wifi at hotel and no food onsite. However, great options in stevenson for dinner. Grab snacks for the fridge and enjoy a nice evening!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor. Very quiet.

My wife and I were returning from a day in the Columbia gorge when we decided to drive back on the Washington side ( State Route 14). I saw a sign for a Hot springs Resort and took the right turn. Carson Hot Springs was easy to find and we stopped for a night without reservations. The rooms overlooking the river were remodeled and very clean, the beds comfortable and the hot tub on the balcony was a god-send. We were very pleased. I would highly recommend staying at Carson Hot Springs. Next time we stay I am brining my Golf clubs so I can enjoy the new course.

Room Tip: Just go and find a relaxing place to stay,.

We've been visiting Carson Hot Springs since 1991 and love the worn-down feel from the nearly 100 years of rain and snow since the hotel and baths were built. You need to book your massage/bath/wrap ahead of time and these slots are more difficult to get than the rooms. The bathtubs are enormous and you can completely immerse in the hot mineral water while curtains separate you into your own private world. It's such a quirky hot springs experience - so different from the usual communal pools. The wrap is relaxing (as long as people aren't talking - sometimes they don't read the signs, but the bath attendants are pretty adept at quieting them down in a nice manner). And the massage is heavenly after the bath and wrap. When you emerge back into the grey drizzle outdoors, you're completely warm and relaxed.

The old hotel rooms are kinda creaky, but they are almost a century old. The newer building to the north has better rooms. But, the best place to stay is the newest addition - the Wind River. The private jacuzzi on the deck is wonderful. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.

The golf course and grill are all new since our last visit to the hot springs. The grill had a good breakfast, which is served all day. I can't comment on the golf course itself since I don't play but the environment is more of an open prairie compared with the one at Skamania which is tucked into the forest.

Skamania is very comfortable and has delicious food and (I've heard) a great spa. However, when you go to Carson Hot Springs, you're seeking a different experience. You're looking for the hot mineral water soak that made St. Martin stake a claim on the site all those years ago.
