“When there is a line out the door... you know it's good!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

This is a fun small restaurant. There was a line out the door on a Saturday afternoon. It was worth the wait for authentic fresh food. The menu is huge – you can get all kinds of meats and a variety of combo plates. My two tacos and Papusa was about $6. The food was great. They have a salsa and toppings bar for your Papusa and Tacos that let you customize your plate to your flavor preference. The customer service was excellent even though it was a packed house. The man at the register kept everything organized and everyone informed on the status of their order. Also, the restaurant and the bathroom were clean. I will definitely be returning!

“Tasty New Spot in Town”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

A friend and I chose a sunny day to try lunch at Bremerton's newest restaurant. Everything is made to order so it did take a little while for both of us to get our food. It's worth the wait for sure. The serving size is large and like my friend noted, it's not exactly easy eating for someone on a strict diet. There are many vegetarian options. Evidently the owners started with a cart that became so popular they opened the storefront spot. We heard that sometimes customers are lined up down the street. We ate outside at a tiny table on the sidewalk which hardly felt like Bremerton at all. What fun! We heard they might open in a larger space. Hope that happens. It's nice to see quality survive in this economy.

“Great menu, great prices, and the best pupusas!”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Downtown Bremerton has a new eatery that is well worth checking out. El Balcon is a tiny storefront restaurant on the main drag, right up the hill from the ferry landing. It is owned and run by a very nice family with roots in Mexico and El Salvador. They are amazing cooks! Their pupusas (a traditional Salvadoran dish) are the best I've had. Their menu has a lot of variety, their prices are very reasonable and their quality and authenticity really hit the mark! We drive regularly from a neighboring town to eat there. Whether you are lucky enough to live nearby or you are visiting Bremerton from the Seattle ferry......you really should give this place a try!

“Good food from El Salvador”
Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

A little different from standard Mexican fare. I've gotten the "fiesta plate" twice and it is tasty and filling. I like the puposas (sp?) and the different sauces. Fun to have such eatery variety downtown!
