Got a great deal by booking online through their website. Place is spotless and staff are very helpful. Pool and sauna are open late as well as the casino. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Only thing that could have made it better was to win at the casino!

I would not recommend staying here for the reason that it is impossible to get any rest. We stayed on the main floor during the weekend. All night long drunk people screamed and partied outside the hallway. When I complained to the front desk at 2:30am, the night manager said that he could get me earplugs, but I sat in the lobby for 1/2 hour waiting and didn't get them. He told me that he personally would never stay at a casino hotel. Other than the noise factor, the beds had a large dip in the mattress. Do not believe that you are getting 2 Queensized beds. I have Queen size bed at home and this is much smaller than a Queen size. It is a shame that the hotel is run so poorly because it would be a nice getaway for the weekend. The pool is beautiful and the exercise facilities are very adequate. Too bad that the management is so poor. The night manager actually said to me that we did not specify that we wanted a quiet room when we checked in. I thought that that wouldn't be a special option. Do not stay at this hotel if you want to sleep, but it would be perfect if you had a group of friends who wanted to party and drink all night.

This is my first visit to the property, passed by it many times on the way to Seattle but never stopped. We stayed for 1 night booked a 2 queen room for the family $89.00/nt. When we checked in we were upgraded to a suite which was quite nice, it had a king size bed in the bedroom with a whirlpool tub for 2 also the main entrance to the washroom was in the bedroom too but there was an entrance by the door as well. Vaulted ceilings a gas fireplace that can be used in the bedroom as well as the living room. 2 flat screen t.v.`s. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, the pool is open till midnight and it is as nice as the pictures show. Check in was fast and handled professionally. We did`nt get to try the buffet as check out is 11 am and the buffet did`nt start until 11:30 am. The casino was OK, not to overcrowded but we did`nt go in until 12:30 am. All in al it was a nice place, not comparable by any means to Vegas but a cheap and quick getaway.

Conveniently located south of Bellingham and north of Anacortes - two places we needed to be for work related activities. A beautiful hotel lobby with cozy sitting areas throughout. My husband likes to gamble and I like to spend time in the jacuzzi / pool areas. No poker room if that is your game. We stayed in rooms 214 and 215 and both were clean with large very comfortable King size beds. Bath towels were extra plush and there were plenty of towels located in the jacuzzi / pool area for guests. The jacuzzi / pool / sauna / workout areas were accessible via a sky bridge which was nice to not have to walk through the lobby - which they discourage. The equipment in the workout area was newer and kept nicely. The Market Buffet offered a large variety of food but overall the food was marginal at best. The continental breakfast offered pastries, cold cereal, fresh fruit, bagels and milk. We found the staff to be friendly enough.

  • Liked — Hot tub / pool area
  • Disliked — Bland food and weak coffee

My daughter and I stayed at the Skagit Valley Casino this past week. I have to say that I loved the room. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I have slept in at a hotel. The spaciousness and cleanliness of the room was also a plus. In addition to the room, we enjoyed the lounge in the casino. The band was entertaining and fun to dance to.
Although the amenities were above average to excellent, we were disappointed with the service.
Brandon, the hotel desk manager, was rude. It appeared that this was his normal behavior to out of state guests. When we questioned why he couldn't be more helpful, he was flip and acted like we annoyed him.
Another employee who was a major turn off was the bartender. Sue was caustic on Friday night. A patron said she wasn't normally as hostile as she was that night. That night ,however, she spread her bad behavior around and left no one unscathed. I have never met a more unfriendly bartender in my life.
Who would frequent a establishment where the staff acted as though they were completely annoyed and hated their guests?
Because of these two very unfriendly employees, we would never stay at the Skagit Valley Casino again.
Skagit Valley Casino Hotel has the potential to be excellent facility and it would serve itself well to employ personal who have a sense of professionalism and pride in their work .

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort on a Friday and Saturday in early June 2007. We decided last minute to take the weekend off from yardwork & get away for a couple of days. Our plans were last-minute, so it was nice that SVCR could accomodate us on short notice. We stayed in room 328 which is one of their spa suites. We enjoyed our stay. But for the benefit of others who use this site to help them decide whether or not to stay at a particular property or not, here is our critique of the Skagit Valley Casino Resort (SVCR)

The Good:
Conveniently located just off of I-5
Only a short drive to the outlet stores in Burlington
Free self-serve sodas in the casino (not all casinos offer that).
Rooms are nicely decorated (see the "not so good" also).
Staff was fairly accomodating
Room service very fast & efficient when we used them
Free parking & free valet for guests of the hotel
Jacuzzi tup in suite very nice, clean, and worked well

The "not so good": (and this is just constructive criticism - we did enjoy our stay)
* Furniture in the rooms could use some stain removing.
Our recliner, sofa, and chairs all had stains on them.
* The bed was firm - and I mean firm as in rock hard and
unforgiving. If you like a mattress firm - this is your place :)
* No fans/vents in the bathroom - not even to vent the shower
* Suite has a small balcony that is large enough for one chair
that is provided. Our view was of the parking lot, which really
didn't bother us, but others may not be happy about that.
* Saturday rate considerably higher than Friday night rate.
That's pretty common with hotels, but the rate jump from
Friday to Saturay was considerably higher.

All in all, for those living in Seattle or Vancouver BC - it's far enough away to feel like a mini-vacation, but close enough to get there in under 2 hours. We enjoyed ourselved there, though I personally didn't have much luck on the tables, it was a welcome reprive from the daily grind.

We have frequently stayed at the Skagit and received a "Birthday $55 Sun-Thurs offer". We booked about a month ahead and asked about the availability of the spa rooms for the date. It was mentioned by the hotel rep that the spa room would probably be available but if we wanted to use our card points we could book the regular room and play for a period of time and then check into the spa room. We agreed and then discussed it further. Our decision was to save the spa room for a later trip in the summer. After we checked into our regular room, we stopped by the Club desk and were shocked to hear that all 4000 of our points had "expired" in February. We had visited the Skagit in December and had never heard that our points we were saving for a spa room would expire. If we had known we would have made a point to use them earlier. It was very disappointing that we worked to save all those points and then have them taken away.
We often receive offers to visit and have never seen any notice that if we don't come soon we will loose our saved points. It will make a difference in our attitude about staying at the Skagit and we stressed to the Club folks that there should be notice to the casino guests about this issue.

We visit the Muckleshoot, Emerald Queen etc and don't have that problem !!

We lost our daughter recently and haven't been able to travel as much due to her treatments. We thought our points would allow us to have a special stay at the Skagit. Now that has been taken away abruptly without notice.

Please use your points asap !!
