Russell's sits in a most unusal place; the old Monte Villa farmhouse in the midst of an industrial park in greater Bothell. Don't let that fool you, the food and atmosphere are a fabulous surprise. My husband and I have dined here three times, for three different occasions. We had heard that the food was amazing, that Chef Russell knows his business. And that much has always been true and consistent. The fettucini with prawns, salmon, chicken, salads, and desserts that we've sampled have been perfect. Our friend said that his steak was the best steak he had ever eaten, having had steak and many reputable restaurants. Another perk to this restaurant is if you choose to bring your own bottle of Washington wine with you, there is no corkage fee for the first bottle. We always take advantage of this great value. Likewise, because the restaurant partners with local wineries, you can find advertisements with 50% off a second entree at many of the Woodinville tasting rooms. The old, converted barn has a very comfortable and casual NW feel. The downside to the giant space with tile floor is that we always hear at least one dish or glass break while we are there. The sound really reverberates. The only part of the experience that needs improving at Russell's is the service. It is not nearly as friendly or consistent as I would like to see considering the fine quality of the food. More attentive service and a more personal experience would greatly improve the overall experience. Of the three servers who we've had, two of them made no effort to connect with us or acknowledge our wedding anniversary (which I heard my husband mention when he made the reservation). The service two of our visits was brisk, perhaps efficiently simple. This was in contrast with our first visiti where we lingered and visited with our friends while being in no hurry to surrender our table. The server had the perfect balance of being attentive and friendly, but not overly so. Overall, Russell's is a great restaurant for couples, well-mannered kids (our 7 year old loves their kids' menu), and celebrations. It is a good value for the quality of the food and is certainly much easier than a drive into Seattle. It is a little gem in Bothell, despite the service that doesn't meet the quality of the food.

best food & service in the seattle/bothell area. great atmosphere & they are pleased to accomodate you. even a late showing(within reason) they are pleased to serve & treat you as the most important part of the day. just refreshing in this day & age that a business is "happy" to see you. I take every visitor to the best place in the northwest. if you miss this place, it is an injustice to enjoying life to the fullest. not the most inexpensive, but i have paid much more for alot less. if you are not impressed send me the bill!!!!!!!!!!

Most resturants rely on location, this place is not one of those places. I heard about this place from a our local friends who recommended it on a Friday night. It is unique in the fact that you can bring in your own favorite wine (two bottles) and drink with out a cork fee. But the food and service is what breaks this place out from the normal white linen table cloth place. Service- our waiter was the most polite smart-a$$ I have ever been served by. I like wait staff with attitude, because they pride themselves on knowing what is good that day. Which ment for me the 10oz. Porterhouse, medium rare, in a word P E R F E C T !!! Mushroom Rosito, and mixed vegetables. Money! Apps were seared scallops and carpico and yes again excellent. Even my friends who are not big scallops eaters thought they were great. My wife had the veal, which you could basicly cut it with a fork. Very tender and flavorful. All this greatness comes with a price which for two people which included desert and pre dinner drinks, tip included $120.00
Again a great place in Bothell

Our hotel recommended Russell's (thanks - great recommendation) and the experience was wonderful. Janice hosted our dinner and provided us a nice review of the local wines, plus the dinner specials. Food was fantastic - menu offered nice and simple choices, with nice local wines tailored to each specific entree.

We were wine tasting and looking for a late diner, called Russell's and they were able to seat us without a problem on a Friday night. Service was very good, and food was excellent. Make sure you check out the upstairs event room, not to be missed.
