“Ok Thai.”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

Dined here for lunch. Nothing great, nothing terrible. The food was OK but nothing that would have me rushing back.

“Great place to eat”
Reviewed March 2, 2012

The food is very good, fresh and tasty. Not a typical "small town asian restuarant" The cooks know what they are doing! We eat there as often as we can.

“good food”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

We visited Chada Thai based upon a previous review by some folks from Canada. We found the lone male friendly enough but he doesn't understand or speak fluent English. Both of our meals were wrong and not as ordered. We didn't send the meals back and they were good enough. My wife ordered steamed wontons and they came fried. I ordered Thai hot and sour soup with tofu unfried and the tofu came fried too, when I told him I wanted it unfried in my soup I assume he interpreted it to be fried ... no big deal but it is not what we ordered. My wife ordered by menu number and the menu clearly stated steamed wontons. The lady owner was made aware of our mistaken orders and she offered to make the corrections. Both dishes were very good even though not the way we ordered them. These folks are really nice and friendly people and I hope the succeed.

“Yum...love the food!”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

We are new to Blaine and have already visited this restaurant several times. The swimming rama peanut dish is absolutely yummy. There is one male worker that never smiles and doesn't talk, but he is efficient and gets the job done. The food is good enough to make up for the lack of pleasantries! We like sitting in one of the booths against the far wall up at the windows that overlook the Blaine Marina, there are also some very pretty flowers outside of the windows that are bigger than fists. Highly recommend if you like thai!

“Excellent Thai Food Two Minutes From The Peace Arch Border Crossing”
Reviewed September 24, 2011

We live not too far from Chada Thada and have been enjoying this restaurant ever since it moved into Blaine from nearby Birch Bay. The property itself isn't at all glamorous, although it has a lovely location overlooking Blaine Marina.

We've visited Thailand twice, the second time spending two days at A Lot of Thai Home Cookery School in Chiang Mai (reviewed elsewhere on TA), and this restaurant is the next best thing to being back there. We often hear the kitchen staff chatting back and forth in Thai and laughing as they work. Happy employees produce good food.

The owner, with family still in Chiang Mai, and her Thai partners are very proud of the fact that all of the sauces are house-made. We've had nothing less than a fine meal every time we've dined here. Some of our favorites include the sampler appetizer plate, their Tom Yum soup, and the Larb, even though it's made with chicken here instead of the pork we are used to in Thailand.

Their Chef's Specials include Eggplant Delight, Thai eggplant that includes shrimp, chili sauce, bell peppers, ginger, black bean sauce and sweet basil leaves. The bright glistening pieces of purple eggplant make it one of the most visually attractive dishes we've come across anywhere and the taste measures up.

The service is friendly and informal and the owner may drop by your table to ask if you're enjoying your meal. The prices, including the beer and wine list, are extremely reasonable, Chada Thai runs lunch specials but we've only eaten there at dinner so can't comment.

We've taken guests here several times, including our traveling companions on our most recent trip to Thailand and the Chiang Mai cooking school, and everybody loves it.

This is our go-to place for an enjoyable meal, and definitely worth a stop for Thai food lovers on the way to or from the Peace Arch border crossing.
