It only gets 4 stars because it's a midrange hotel, but it's at the top of its class for comfort, amenities and particularly great staff - friendly, nice and attentive.
It was noisy in the lobby (we were there on a football playoff weekend) but extremely quiet in the rooms; must be great soundproofing - surprising in a hotel.
Exercise room was well equipped, clean and everything working. Pool and hot tub available but I didn't get around to trying those - or the grill-it-yourself barbecue which seemed to be popular.
Everything we needed was in the kitchenette.
We found it good value - we were traveling for medical reasons and stayed there two weekends in a row. Decided we wanted to go back to the same place because we liked it. The rooms are much smaller than the Springhill next door but we were pleased with the value so we picked Towneplace again. (Pool and exercise room shared by both facilities).

Room tip: For winter travelers - the heat pump heating caught up quicker on the top floor than on the ground floor

Great staff, nice new rooms, kitchenettes, pool, a huge barbecue grill, good location, easy parking, decent free breakfast (even for picky low-carb paleo people)...

We will definitely stay here again!

We come to Bellingham for family holidays, lots of food for extended family.
As such, we wanted a room with an oven, range, microwave, fridge, and sink to prepare our part of the feast.

TownePlace provides this in a double suite with a king, two queens and a fold out couch. It has two bathrooms.

The helpful young lady on the phone accepted our request that we would start getting groceries at 4 PM, and relatives filling bedrooms at 7 PM, but we would not arrive to pay until 3 AM.

When we got there at 3 AM, Sean was informed about our needs, attentive and cheerful when getting billing transferred to my card, and giving me extra room cards so we did not need to wake anyone.
An ideal motel for us, with excellent staff.

Thanks so much for the great review, JimboPalmer! Your review truly embodies what I hope every guest experiences with us at the TownePlace Suites! As Bellingham's only true extended-stay hotel, we are so pleased to offer our guests the ability to (in your case) cook a huge meal for what sounds like a large family! Our 2-bedroom suites, with the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms certainly provide a nice oasis with all the services of home. Thank you for spending your holidays with us and come see us soon!

Great hotel that offers fully equipped suites. The entrance was warm, nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good selection breakfast with a waffle maker. If you are travelling with your pet, the fee is just $20 (compared to the expensive pet fee Home 2 by Hilton across the street charges). I really like this hotel and I definitely recommend it!

Hi Ems_Vacations and thank you for your recent visit - and naturally, for your kind words. We love welcoming the small furry guests as well and I'm pleased you found the accommodations so nice for all of you! (and yes, our pet fee is lower than most and we hope your dog enjoyed the welcome gift). See you soon!

The only problem with this hotel is that I was only there for 1 night. Great location right near the freeway, it was snowing and they had easy garage parking. The wifi was easy to connect to and fast. The bed was very comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Definitely coming back next time.
