“Very comfortable B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2009

We stayed here for two nights after driving through North Cascades National Park, intending to hike at Mt. Baker the next day. It was a little hard to find, kind of on the outskirts of town, but very nice and reasonably priced. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom quite roomy. The room had a VCR/DVD player, and a wide selection of videos was available. Breakfasts were good, and tea, coffee, and granola bars were available any time. There was a hot tub, but we didn't have a chance to use it. The llamas in the field next to the lodge provide some fun photo ops. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the lodge and had local friends in for breakfast. We used the common space as our own living room for many hours. No one else around so just like our own.
Just a short distance from Bellingham and all the attractions.

Mt wife and I enjoyed our two night stay here. Dwight and Tara were excellent hosts and Tara presented fantastic breakfasts. The lodge is cozy, the hot tub is hot, the lamas are lovely and the price is just right. We will be back!

Happy trails, Dutch and Jennifer

Nice relaxing stay at Anderson Creek. 10-15 minutes outside town, relatively easy to find.

Innkeepers were very helpful, but not overbearing. Made great suggestions for a local place for dinner (a German steak and schnitzel house - excellent, even though out in "the middle of nowhere"). Breakfast was outstanding - fresh orange juice, apple pancakes, and apple sausage. Great Ethiopian coffee.

Overall, a relaxing, comfortable stay.

This was the first time my husband and I have ever stayed at a bed and breakfast. We both do our share of business travel and always stay either at Double Tree or Hilton all over the country. Anderson Creek surpassed the comfort, privacy, and service of both of these hotel chains. The food was excellent and they were very very understanding of my dietary restrictions. We snowboard, the location was excellent. We could make it back and forth from Baker easly and we were not stuck eating and finding evening entertainment in Glacier every night. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next month! I would suggest Anderson Creek to everyone. Thanks for the great vacations!!

Our stay at the Anderson Creek Lodge was our very first at a B&B and it was everything we had hoped for. Our hosts, Tara and Dwight, were so helpful and friendly. The lobby and fireplace were cozy like a ski lodge without the trouble of needing to ski! We didn't end up using the hot tub or the fireplace in our room (the Cascade), but it was nice to have them available. Our room didn't have a tub but the shower was roomy and pleasant with lots of hot water for our morning shower just before breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, the apple pancakes were heavenly and Tara was very helpful in making us veggie sausage to accomodate our dietary needs. There was a nice library of books and dvds available for stays longer than ours. If we find ourselves back in this part of the world, we would not hesitate to visit the Anderson Creek Lodge again.

There are five rooms at this lodge and ours was lovely, but we were particularly enamoured with the living space here. We just stayed one night as a stop off between plain old boring hotels along an extended trip, so we were tired of being boxed into a room as well as lacking the energy to keep going out every night. This was the antidote. The couple who own the lodge are very polite and helpful and also make an amazing breakfast, but they live in their own home nearby. It's a nice balance, as they are always nearby but we never felt like we were intruding in their space, like can happen with a more standard B&B. Some other guests made use of the hot tub but sitting by the fire was more our style in November -- so everyone seemed pretty happy! We also appreciated that there was free wifi throughout the property as well as hot and cold drinks whenever we liked. Refreshing compared to the escalated prices of sodas and snacks in hotel vending machines! This property is a bit of a drive from town, but the surroundings are beautiful, and I'm sure that in the middle of town you wouldn't get to take a stroll by a field of llamas. Above all, we really enjoyed our short stay here.

  • Liked — Lovely living space with wood fire and fabulous breakfast.
  • Disliked — A bit difficult to find in the dark -- arrive in daylight if possible.
