We did not eat in the restaurant part of this cafe, but the food and menu looked good.
The coffee was very good and the price was right.
Also, they use ceramic mugs -- a plus for us and the environment.

By far the most delightfully laid back place between Seattle and Vancouver to banish highway fatigue is Fairhaven, a 19th Century town built around a collection of restored Victorian buildings. It has a feel and taste of what things used to be before fast food joints and plastic modernity. One of the jewels in its crown is the Harris Avenue Cafe and Tony's, the coffee shop next door. Tony's is cozy old time coffee shop obviously popular with the locals. The Harris Cafe, which has an outdoor patio, has a basic but substantial menu. My wife was pleasantly surprised by her large and very fresh green salad served with whole wheat toast. Although simple It something that could never have been produced by the junk food purveyors that clutter the I-5. Spend some time exploring the town and its many interesting shops including a large and well-stocked book store, an exceptionally fine tobacconist and a reasonable facsimile of a British pub. Fairhaven is also the gateway or the terminus, depending on wether you are heading south or north, to the Chuckanut Drive, one of the most beautiful roadways in the Pacific North West.

Tony's opened in 1971 in the same location where it's now located. Lots of other coffee shops have sprung up in Fairhaven as the area has become more and more cutesy. Years ago in the Farihaven hippie days we used to laugh about the "same day service" in Tony's but that is not the case anymore. The baristas are for the most part very skilled, charming, and seem to like their jobs! Very little turnover among the staff.

In the summer you can get an iced coffee for a buck! What's not to like? They also do toddy (cold brewed extract) drinks and have 3 different kinds of chocolate for their mochas or hot chocolate.

Tip: there's a restaurant connected to it (Harris Avenue Cafe) and you can get Tony's coffee there too. But in the other direction, you can get a limited food menu in the coffeehouse, like breakfast items and great soups at lunch.

Our best meal in Fairhaven on our two-day stay was at the Harris Avenue Cafe for breakfast. My husband got the potatoes with an egg scrambled in it and fresh veggies--delicious and fresh. I ordered the red potatoes with an egg, toast, and sausage links. All very tasty and well-seasoned. The bread was very good. We sat out ont he patio and had great service, receiving our food very promptly. I recommend it and will go there again when I visit.
