“One-of-a-kind, authentic & delicious”

This is the kind of cafe I look for in any city: completely unique and authentic. The menu choices are tasty and when I'm not sure about what to pick the Peruvian owner is helpful with suggestions and he's always been right! Go ahead and try something different. Sandwiches are really good and the simple decor makes it a cozy, truly special experience. A favorite new lunch place for my friends and me because it's a delightful way to have an international adventure for less than ten bucks.

“Addictive!!!”

I'm so glad Cafe Rumba is here in Bellingham. If you are looking for a place to find something different than all the other lunch spots, this is it! Sure you can find sandwiches easily enough, but not like these...the bread is handmade especially for these sandwiches (crispy outside and soft chewy inside). Everything is made from scratch. The unique sauces that come on the sandwiches are uniquely Peruvian (black mint sauce, huacatay etc.)...you won't find these flavor combinations anywhere else in the area. The mildly spicy peruvian pepper sauce over the sides of potatoes, the chicha morada (spiced purple corn juice), the dulce de leche cookies, are all the little extras that will soon have you craving to stop for lunch again at Cafe Rumba. The soups are always amazing too and the salads fresh and generously portioned. Besides the great food, you'll enjoy the bright casual friendly atmosphere and the constant line-up of great latin music thats always playing.

“Buenazo, delicious authentic Peruvian cuisine .”

The huancaina Sauce is creamy , just the right amount of spice . The breads for the sandwiches are always fresh and crunchy warm, my favorite is the turkey (very moist) sandwich . Hope they keep adding on to their menu so Bellingham can have a taste of the wonderful Peruvian cousine.

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

LOVE this place. They are always so friendly and pleasant and the food is just terrific!
The quinoa salad is unlike anything I've had before and it is so tasty.
Same for the Pavo (turkey) sandwich (all the food really) and the desserts.
Don't forget to try to chicha - a juice drink that is wonderful.

SO glad this place is here and doing well. We are LUCKY to have them in the Ham...

“Different Flavors”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Cafe Rumba offers Peruvian inspired sandwiches, served on a freshly baked roll with sauces and spices unlike other Latin American dishes I've experienced. The service was helpful with describing the menu, and our order was quickly prepared. Tasty! In particular, the pork sandwich I had was perfectly cooked. Sandwiches are served with great potatoes, covered with a sauce that's one of those "sneaks up on you" spicy heat. I put some of it on my pork, and it was wonderful. This place goes on my "keeper" list for sure.

We did find the pineapple juice to have a strange flavor that we didn't relate to very well, but that was a minor distraction. It is a small and cozy place.
