We always find the front desk staff cheerful and accommodating and find Choice Hotels to be a good value! Location near the airport is a real plus. Nice to have a continental breakfast that included hard boiled eggs and a selection of bagels, juice and coffee.
Having a mini-fridge and microwave appliances are appreciated, but they should be located on a separate stand not on the dresser taking up valuable room for personal items.
The rooms do need a more thorough cleaning!
Walking barefoot on the stained carpet blackened the bottoms of my feet and I had to put my shoes on after showering! The carpet was filthy!
Although the linens and towels were clean, the blanket on the bed was old, stained and pilled!
Noise from adjoining rooms seemed amplified and I thought the guests above my room were cloggers dancing across the floor.
The entry door to my room was covered in dirty fingerprints.
This hotel needs some serious attention to cleaning!!!!

Room Tip: Try another local hotel, I will!

I arrived late one evening in Bellingham, unable to get a motel room due to insufficient funds on my credit card. The Econo Lodge asked for a $100.00 cash credit. What a relief when one is tired to finally be able to get a room. The nice surprise was the qualtiy: clean, affordable, complimentary continental breakfast, pool, hot tub, laundry facilities and friendly, supportive front dest staff.

Room Tip: Great access on and off the freeway!

We are retired and have been traveling the U.S. for two months. We stayed at the Comfort Inn down the road the night before. For the second night the Comfort Inn was booked so we found ourselves here at the Econo Lodge two blocks down the road. Room was clean and comfortable. Sink drained slow. Refrig and microwave, no iron. Breakfast was absymal with little to nothing offered. Here is a tip. When in town stay at the close by Comfort Inn. Their beautiful pool, sauna, and wonderful breakfast AND the Comfort Inn was less money. See our previous review of the Comfort Inn. The Econo Lodge is OK for a room with a comfortable bed but it is over priced for what you get. We are off now to pay for breakfast at Denny's.

This hotel is located in north Bellingham, near the mall and many restaurants. The room was quite large - a king bed with good pillows, a fridge and micro and a little sitting area with a chair and sofa. Bed was comfortable. The pool was clean and allowed for a good relaxing couple of hours. Thank goodness the weather was nice. We were out a little later than usual and when we got back the parking lot was pretty full but still several spots open.

This is a no-frills basic motel, but rates are reasonable and staff is very nice. WiFi worked well and continental breakfast was adequate. There are many motels along this strip of Guide Meridian Road, near Bellis Fair Mall. I would have preferred the LaQuinta or Quality Inn nearby, but they were booked.

The first "non-smoking" room we were given smelled heavily of smoke, but staff was quick to move us to another, more suitable room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side away from the freeway.

A lot of the reviews here seem to rag on this place - It had me questioning if I'd made the right choice in booking it. However it turned out to be great (for the price). Small, old decor rooms and pretty terrible continental breakfast. But you know what? It cost me less than $80.

Front desk service was great and the room, while old, was clean.
