Received a recommendation from a local shopkeeper. Wife and I were pleasantly surprised. Cant believe this place is so low on the list. They are better than half the places ahead of them. Full bar, great food, and good service. We'll be back

Bacon Brussel sprouts and crab Mac and cheese were great. Good selection of local beers. A cool spot

The Black Cat can be a little tough to find. It's on the 3rd floor inside an old building. But it's worth seeking out- cool exposed brick interior and big windows looking out with a view of the bay. There's not a bad table, but the back room is a bit quieter than the area closest to the main bar. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was busy- be prepared to wait. Service was attentive and the beer selection was good. The food was solid. I had a salad and the soup of the day and wasn't disappointed. The servings were large.

Visited for dinner, and while my fish tacos were good, my wife's salmon was amazing. Salmon was cooked nicely, and potatoes good too, but real highlight was the baked brussels sprouts...WOW You have to try these!!! Not sure if sold on their own, but DO ask about them. Couldn't believe the taste.
PS - tables by the windows have a nice view, as you're on the 3rd floor

We have lived in Bellingham our entire lives and finally made it here! It had been recommended several times but we just had never eaten here. I had the blackened prawn tacos and my husband had the cod fish and chips...both were delicious! The cod was thick sliced and not tons of beer breading and my prawns were seasoned just right, not too spicy. We were fortunate enough to sit at a window seat and the view was nice. The vibe was good, if you are looking for a quiet spot, this might not be the place as it was busy and pretty loud ( it was Saturday). Our waitress Hannah took great care of us, she made our first experience extra special by being such a sweet person! We will be back :)
