“Great Korean Food”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

I go to Blue Ginger every time I am in Seattle/ Redmond. Korean barbeque is great to do and the accompaniments they provide with the meat are great. Blue Ginger has excellent Kimchi which is key with Korean food.

Each time I've been there has only been 1 person serving all the tables, and for the most part she does a great job.

A very good alternative if you're in the mood for oriental food.

“Best Korean Food this side of Osan AB, ROK.”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

We stopped at the Blue Ginger Grill for lunch one weekday. There were several Korean families in the restaurant, always a good sign at an ethnic restaurant. We ordered fried potstickers or yakimandu along with grilled flank ribs or kalbi and spicy grilled pork or bulgogi. The entrees came with rice and a selection of traditional Korean side dishes.

The yakimandu were good, the kalbi were excellent. Grilled crispy along the edges with the centers still tender. The spicy pork was very good, spicy enough yet not so much that you couldn't taste the meat. For the sides, the spicy pickled cabbage or kimchee was fresh, the leaves crisp but still pickled. The spice was mild for anyone who's been to Korea, but still packed the heat. The radish kimchee was spot on, cool and hot. I liked the bean sprouts and the pickled ginger as well.

The staff was friendly but not American restaurant style obsequious, letting us eat in peace and only checking with us once. Prices were on par for the area.

“A different experience...”
Reviewed February 12, 2012

We're not used to cooking our own dinner at a restaurant, but it was a challenging and different experience. It's difficult to say anything bad about the food or service when you are cooking and serving yourselves! There probably could have been more attention from the staff, but it was a nice setting. Unfortunately, we were there with many family members and all sat around two adjoining grills/tables. It was just too crowded. Perhaps it would be different with a smaller party of several couples. It is expensive for a casual, sit-down restaurant. We'd give it another try though.

“My first experience with Korean food - I liked it.”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

I had never eaten Korean food before, so when visiting from a small town in the east, my sister took me here. We had tempura and then hot pot. It was all very good.

We went at lunch time during the week. There was no crowd and our service was just fine. The waitress was helpful in explaining the food and the sauces.

The other patrons seemed to be mostly Asian, many were cooking at their table. They sure looked like they were enjoying their meal.

“WAITRESS STOLE MY MONEY! Will never go back!”
Reviewed February 4, 2011

WAITRESS TIPPED HERSELF EXTRA!!! My credit card was charged more than I put down even after 16% tip. Food was not great. They haven't had sushi for over a year so need to change the name AND the website and quit the false advertising. Service was not great and there was maybe 3 tables there on a sunday evening. And what's with the space heaters?? Can't you afford real heating?? WILL NEVER COME BACK!!
