“Expensive but Positive Experience”
Reviewed January 2, 2010

We stayed at the Bellevue Westin primarily due to reputation and proximity to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse where we had reservations for our wedding anniversary dinner. Great location at Bellevue Square with a trendy and lively lounge across the street. Very nice rooms and helpful staff who sent up a complimentary bottle of wine with cheese and crackers (and a nice card) for our anniversary. It was an inexpensive variety of wine, but the thought was nice. No restaurant on premises, and no room service outside of breakfast pre-ordered on a door hanger. The wait staff in the small lounge on the property were uninspired and seemed rather disinterested in their hosting duties. Another less than favorable experience was being charged $27 to valet park for 1 night. For what they charge for a room, guests should park for free. However, on balance it was an enjoyable stay. Great shower and whirlpool bath.

Please accept my apologies for being tardy in our response back to the review you wrote in January. We were pleased your review was a mostly favorable one, and hope you enjoyed the complimentary amenity we sent up to your room to surprise you and your spouse for your anniversary, despite the wine selection.

We also wanted to let you know that we had addressed your concern relative to the service you experienced in our lounge. We do take your comments seriously, and our team is committed to providing consistent and instinctive service to all of our guests...we apologize for the hiccup.

We do have a restaurant on premises, it's Cypress, and is open for breakfast and dinner, but closed during the lunch hour because there are so many great lunch options in the Bellevue Collection. We also have 24 hour room service, but may have missed putting the compendium with dining information in your room when we serviced it.

Thank you again for all the feedback and we do look forward to welcoming you back again in the future...maybe for your next anniversary!

Be well.

We stayed at the Bellevue Westin in November 2009. Christmas shopping and an evening out. I was very surprised and a bit underwhelmed at the experience. It is a newish hotel and yet everything seemed very worn and rundown. The room was mediocre and pretty bland. It seemed as thought it was a very old hotel that had been renovated 10 years ago, not a brand new hotel. Not much in the way of luxury or technology either. It almost seemed as though the money ran low at some point in construction and so the finishing touches were half hearted. The carpet in our room was horribly stained in various places, not something to rest your mind at ease about the cleanliness. It seemed clean on the surface but... Also, the handle on the bathroom door almost seemed like it had been broken in or something and htere was a hole in the tile of the bathroom. Again, not deal breakers, but just added to the overall impression. I probably would not stay here again. I would recommend it for business travel, but would probably not recommend it for leisure. It wasn't what I consider a luxury accomodation. The furniture was drab and also stained, no color in the room at all. However, The people were fabulous, incredibly nice it just seemed like the construction work was a bit shoddy. Apparently we were upgraded to the room we got but I really wasn't impressed. All of that being said, it is in a great area for shopping and dining. Close to everything!

Thank you for sharing your comments relative to your recent stay at our hotel. Please accept my sincere apologies for the condition of your guest room, as we do schedule preventative maintenance in our rooms quite often, and must have missed this one. The style of our hotel is quite modern and minimalist, and it doesn't necessarily appeal to all of our travelers. Having said that, we do take your comments to heart and will continue to update our guestrooms & the furniture in them.

We appreciate your kind comments regarding our staff and the location of our property, and we hope we can do better for you next time you visit. Please feel free to reach out to me directly.

This is a wonderful hotel, very chic and quiet, with a remarkable staff, comfortable and spacious rooms .... and of course "heavenly beds". We appreciate the sheets that cover the blankets. It is an added touch that attests to the cleanliness. We stay here whenever we come to Bellevue. Check-in is quick and easy, valet service is prompt and friendly, and the two peoplewith whom we interact the most, concierge David, and breakfast waiter Peter, are very helpful. It is surrounded by many restaurants, and is connected to the mall by a bridge.

Our only criticism is of the bathroom. The bed linens are wonderful, but the towels are rough. There is only one towel bar which is really hard for two people's towels, and last time we were there, I flooded the bathroom because the too short shower curtain billowed out of the tub without my knowledge.

Thank you so much for sharing your refreshing and rejuventating words about your recent stay with us! I'll be sure to thank David and Peter for taking good care of you, and we'll look forward to having you back in our care soon.

Thank you also for your comments about the towel bar and shower curtain as well...shower curtains are always being replaced so maybe we missed the shorter one in your room, sorry about that!

Be well, and Happy Thanksgiving.

This is a relatively new hotel that has it right. A high end of what you'd expect in a Westin - great staff, nice rooms, very good service. This is a place where you don't mind being for work and where you'd not feel bad about bringing an S.O.

This is a great hotel!! Staff was incredibly helpful. They even taped and bubble wraped a present I recieved so I could safely take it on the airplane. Housekeeping was some of the best I have seen and very accomodating. The views from the higher floors are very nice--with large windows in the rooms. Very comfortable beds!!! I definately recommend this hotel.

I decided to mix things up a bit for my anniversary and try staying in Bellevue instead of Seattle for a night, and I'm sure glad I did!

Within minutes of arriving, we were greeted by very friendly staff which then mentioned we'd been upgraded to a great corner room with a view of the lake. We also had been provided some bubbly, chocolate covered strawberries, and a personalized greeting welcoming us! WOW.

This hotel is situated amongst some great restaurants, shopping, and entertainment... all easily accessible without having to get into a car!

Pros: View of the lake (particularly nice while the leaves are changing colour), Heavenly Bed, indoor pool (nice and bright), quiet room, and the staff!

Cons: Cost to use Internet (it wasn't a surprise, but really this should be included at no charge... it's like tap water and a telephone, people!)
