The Westin Bellevue's pristine, 3-lane lap pool is why I stay there as a Corporate Preferred member.
However, there is no "Club" level and room service is an arm-and-a-leg ($26 for an omelet, after $4.50 service charge AND an 18% gratuity). Having stayed at the Westin NYC, an SPG membership meant Club access with breakfast, etc. As there is no Club floor (no breakfast, no afternoon cocktails, etc.), there really aren't major perks to being a Starwoods Preferred Guest (SPG) member other than being on an SPG floor.
The only minor perk to being an SPG member is a room, I believe, with bottled water in it. The person at the front desk upgraded me, and I asked if there was any difference. They said no, so I took a room which ended up being on a higher, but non-SPG floor. The result: no bottled water. Careful, SPGers.
TIP: Manzana, a restaurant next to the Westin, has the best breakfasts & to-go items for those not on a Westin budget.More
