“Decent but not amazing Indian fare”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

This restaurant was recently closed down for health food violations and an active food-borne illness outbreak. Not good, but good news maybe means that it'll be more hygienic now that it has re-opened? Seattle and King County Public Health closed it down this month--and the restaurant reopened several days later.
http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/ehs/foodsafety/inspections/closures.aspx
- Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures
- Improper cooling of potentially hazardous food
- Inadequate facilities to control temperature of potentially hazardous food, cold holding
- Poor personal hygiene practices
- Handwashing facilities inaccessible
- Failure to correct repeated violations
- Active foodborne illness outbreak

I think they have the best samosas (when fresh) on the Eastside with a tasty chutney. The rest of the food is strong 3-star caliber (plus and minus on certain items), but mostly not knock-your-socks-off amazing. Then again, being Indian I may perhaps be overly strict.

“MayurI Indian restaurant in Bothell/Mill Creek”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

The sister restaurant to the one in Bellevue. Same family owns the place. We driver 45 minutes each way to eat at Mayuri in Bothell/Mill Creek. One of the very few southern Indian restaurants in a glut on northern/eastern Indian restaurants.

Mayuri makes the best Masala Dosa and Idli sambar in the state of Washington.
If I want better Indian food, I have to travel to the California Bay Area.
We try to go to this restaurant at least 3 times a month. I'd be there twice a week if they were in Monroe.

“Top Indian Restaurant in a Flooded Market”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

Mayuri stands out for me among the dozens of Indian restaurants in the area which is why I give it an excellent rating. The atmosphere is comfortable, much more than plain paint on the walls. The menu choices are plenty and taste authentic, as might be deduced from the number of Indians in the restaurant. I see some reviews here that say the service is lacking, but I contend that it's average or better and certainly adequate. The food is really the star, and I can vouch for such delights as the masala dosa, paneer naan, onion kulcha, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, meat samosas and yummy curd rice. The chai is good, but it's standard restaurant issue. The prices are about $11 an entree which I consider average. I haven't had anything to complain about yet and will keep going back!

“My favorite Indian restaurant in Bellevue”
Reviewed March 25, 2012

This has been my favorite Eastside Indian restaurant since it opened. Everything I've tried has been excellent, including saag paneer, aloo gobi, vegatable samoza, chicken tikka masala, etc. I just wish Mayuri would open a restaurant in downtown Bellevue (the old Salute spot on Main street is available -- hint hint!)
