After spendng two months in Apt D511 at the Oakwood Bellevue I can say that it was a very mixed bag. The location downtown was excellent fo walking, since you are downtown already. Everything is within a mile. Also the furniture was newer and wireless internet was available for each suite. The room was adequate with our two bedroom unit on the top floor. However, the noise every night from the trash trucks was unbearable. The road next to the Oakwood is a commercia street, which means that that trash from the Courtyard is picked up every night at approx. 3-4am. With the summer heat, and no AC, we needed our windows open at night, which kept us up most of the night.

Room Tip: As far from the Marriott Courtyard as possible.

Thin walls. The apartments are next to a hotel, with an access road between. Both buildings use this for their dumpsters, which are emptied in the middle of the night, every night, for between 20 to 50 minutes. VERY LOUD banging noises. You will never get a good night's sleep. In addition, we ended up with bed bugs after a change of linens housekeeping visit. A total nightmare. The staff is very friendly & responsive, but it doesn't make up for the building. They should have done more to move us to a new apt after the bugs, but we were left to do it for ourselves. The 2nd apt was run-down and worn looking, though the first was new and clean.

I recently relocated to the US from the UK and stayed at the Oakwood for approximately two months. Initially I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, but subsequently moved to a studio as it was big enough for my needs (and cheaper!). I found almost all the staff friendly, helpful and willing to put themselves out, although one was a little awkward. The rooms were great and the furniture in them fine, with everything you needed provided (my second room did not have any saucepans and these were delivered as soon as I mentioned it).

The only slight drawback to the complex is that the fitness centre is limited and has no air conditioning (or at least what it has is inadequate) meaning that trying to exercise in the Seattle summer was a little uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper storey room as the lower ones can be viewed from the courtyard and don't get so...

Totally agree with the other reviewer who said that the doors closing are really noisey. The whole building feels like its made of cardboard. Despite moving to a top floor apt, the room shakes when someone else is walking in rooms below or next foor. Plus the apts are next door to a hotel which gets its garbage empied by trucks every morning between 3 to 5 am. So in 6 weeks, not slept one whole night. No choice as business chose this place, but think carefully, there are so many more places that are substantially better buidlings and better value for money. Depressing place. Makes you appreciate home though.

The room is nice and clean. The location is convenient, very close to downtown. Two problems. First, they charge you by DAYS, not Nights. I booked for 4 nights (the minimum requirement) and checked out by 11am the last day. Their staff confirmed that I needed to check out by that time. I assumed, in a regular hotel, you don't get charged on the day when you checked out on time. I was wrong. In Oakwood Bellvue, they do. Their advertisement says stay 4 nights at least, not 5 days. Anyway, it was a shock when I saw my bill. Second problem, whenever someone come in or out through the door to the stairs and garage, the door makes huge noise and shakes the whole building, especially during the evening. If your heart is not strong enough, you'd better stay away from it.
Overrall, it is an OK place, but I will not stay there again.
