...but this place is crazy with their prices. It is like they feel like there job is to have a restaurant where rich people can eat and drop loads of money on extra things that should just be apart of the meal. Food was good, but after drinks and everything, we were $110 per person. It was way too much

“The best of the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

We had dinner at El Gaucho in Bellevue, Washington last Friday night. It was superb. While traditional steakhouses don't offer a lot in the way of versatility, this one did in the tradition of the original one in downtown Seattle.. In addition to the wonderful, but large, cuts of meet, the menu included rack of lamb, as well as ribs (for which they are famous - and ironic, because of the elegance of the environment). We split a French cur steak (rib-eye), which was more than enough for two people. Our waiter prepared a traditional Caesar salad tablesite (a bygone skill). Our dinner was accompanied by the best scalloped potatoes we've ever had, as well as asparagus. Dessert - Cherries Jubilee - what else? Wonderful wine list that includes mostly Washington (Columbia Valley wines), as well as fine after-dinner libations.

And, June, the pianist, played at the original El Gaucho in downtown Seattle.

All in all, a great dininr experience that captured the essence of what fine dining used to be.

“Enjoy the El Gaucho Experience!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2011

I recently hosted 60 clients at El Gaucho and everyone raved about the El Gaucho experience!!! From the moment I picked up the phone to organize the event to the moment we paid the bill to leave - everything was perfect. Whitney - the Private Dining Sales Manager - made our visit effortless & selected an excellent menu, including local wine for our guests from around the World. Our servers: Sarah Hayden & Kelly Sinowitz were absolutely amazing & highly recommend asking for this team. Food was amazing!! Service amazing!!! Overall experience - Perfect!! I look forward to going back with my friends & family!!!

“Great bar!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2011

El Gaucho is a classic, elegant high end steakhouse with all the trimmings. We meet at the bar every few months for drinks and "small bites". Service is top notch, drinks are great, and prices are reasonable for what you get--especially at happy hour. They usually have a piano player that we really enjoy. She adds a great touch.
Food on the bar menu is generous, tasty, and always presented perfectly.
The restaurant itself is a "special occasion" (or expense account) place-- at least for me. We get to enjoy all the special occasion ambience and service at the bar for a bargain.

“Great meat, great service, but at a price.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2011

Had many a lunch and dinner here. The steaks are pricey but well prepared and high quality. Lunch is the better way to go, with more reasonable prices and excellent choices. Their burger is seriously one of the best ever with a great bun, fresh toppings, juicy and flavorful meat and a satisfying crunch of toasted bread and bacon. Also don't miss the wicked shrimp and save the sauce for dipping your hot garlic bread in it. Ok, my mouth is watering now....
