“Great bar!”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

El Gaucho is a classic, elegant high end steakhouse with all the trimmings. We meet at the bar every few months for drinks and "small bites". Service is top notch, drinks are great, and prices are reasonable for what you get--especially at happy hour. They usually have a piano player that we really enjoy. She adds a great touch.
Food on the bar menu is generous, tasty, and always presented perfectly.
The restaurant itself is a "special occasion" (or expense account) place-- at least for me. We get to enjoy all the special occasion ambience and service at the bar for a bargain.

“Great meat, great service, but at a price.”
Reviewed October 1, 2011

Had many a lunch and dinner here. The steaks are pricey but well prepared and high quality. Lunch is the better way to go, with more reasonable prices and excellent choices. Their burger is seriously one of the best ever with a great bun, fresh toppings, juicy and flavorful meat and a satisfying crunch of toasted bread and bacon. Also don't miss the wicked shrimp and save the sauce for dipping your hot garlic bread in it. Ok, my mouth is watering now....

“very expensive but mediocre food”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

We went here for a birthday celebration. We were horrified at the prices in the dining room, so we moved to the bar. Wine was particularly over priced
We had a wedge salad from the dinner menu, and a hamburger from the bar menu. The dressing for the wedge salad had been watered down. The waiter said that the roquefort was "too strong" and brought more diluted dressing. The hamburger was overcooked and the bun base was soaking wet. I was glad that we had not paid $65.00 for a steak.
Waiters were courteous and attentive. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and live music was playing

“The best Steakhouse in Greater Seattle Area”
Reviewed September 17, 2011

Pricey and fancy, but worth every penny for the food. Not very kids friendlt because of the modern decoration, piano background, but very enjoyable with friends and singles.

“An Outstanding Evening”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

Let me start out by saying that this restaurant is expensive, but worth every penny. This had to be one of the very most enjoyable evenings of dining out that we have ever enjoyed. Everyting about it was perfect. Excellent food, great drinks and wines and absolutely outstanding service. The kind of service you just don't find anymore. A special treat is their tableside prepared Caeser Salad. The real thing, coddled egg and all. Not the usual prepared dressing over romaine lettuce that is served in most restaurants. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a very special evening, and is willing to pay the price for it.
