Love the easy soup and salad combo for lunch with slightly reduced portion sizes. Friendly on the wallet and helps to avoid the afternoon food coma.

“Great place for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

My wife and I met friends for lunch at Purple recently and had a great time. The food was very good, the service was punctual without being interrupting and the atmosphere was nice. All of us in our party felt like the background music was too loud for a restaurant that was only about half full. I enjoyed the roast beef dip sandwich while my wife had one of her favorite salads. The wine list is quite good but I wish that they had a few more Washington wines to choose from on the by-the-glass list. I anticipate that we will go back if we are on that side of Bellevue at lunch time in the future.

“Food is Not Good.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

I ate here with some friends last night. I was hoping for a restaurant with good food and a good wine list. Well, the wine list is very good. But the food was not good at all. Please don't be fooled into thinking that this place is anything more than a restaurant that tries to pretend to be "fine dining" by hiding behind a good wine list, but in truth it is serving mediocre food.

For a starter I ordered the fried calamari, the dish was inedible, someone in the kitchen had a very heavy hand with the salt. The lamb shank was average. The rest of my party felt the same way, (steak, lobster mac and cheese) the food was just okay. Dessert was good, but how can you go wrong with chocolate?

If you are looking for a place to enjoy good wine, this is the place. But, if you are looking for good food, I'd go somewhere else.

“Good food but kirkland is better.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

Food.....good but pedestrian. Kirkland more creative food has more depth.

Atmosphere.....not intimate but not Chucky Cheese. Warmer than Kirkland which is a plus.

Service....could have been more attentive.

Overall....will be back for cheese plate and wine at the bar. Dinner ill drive to Kirkland.
