Description: John Howie Steak - a downtown Bellevue favorite. Located in the Bravern near 405 (freeway) off of 8th Ave. A great happy hour with a near famous cheeseburger, bar and lounge open till 11pm or midnight. Fine dining in the dining room. Lunch is quite reasonable ($12-$15 entreees) and delicious. Premium steakhouse for lunch meetings, dates or of course any occasion for dinner. Private dining rooms available as well. Catering available. A fine dining restaurant with more casual options for lunch, happy hour, the bar and lounge.

“Great Food & Service”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We make it a point to go here at least once a year. As my husband puts it, this is the best steak he's had. The desserts are too big to be finished by one person. They also have happy hour specials. Great service, great food and great ambiance makes John Howie a truly pleasurable experience.

“Great meat, Great wine, Great service”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

The variety and quality of the meat is one of the best I came across. Wine variety is impressive and it ofters very good choice for every taste with reliable recommendations from the staff.
The service is very proffesional, sometime even overdoing.
My last dinner there was a porter house steak which I enjoyed every bite of.
The question is not if I'll return but how soon could I ...

“Service, atmosphere and brilliant food”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The wine selection was excellent and affordable, a great compliment to the wonderful Tenderloin steak finished to perfection. I am a steak lover and the quality of the meet, temp, and Oscar preparation was awesome - one of the best I've had. Brussel sprouts are better than mine and per the waiter - one of the favorites among clients at John Howies.

“Great Happy Hour Menu!!!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

John Howie has a great happy hour menu. Lots of choices at reasonable prices. Happy hour runs from 4PM to 6PM then again at 9PM until close, There is a happy hour menu and a bar menu combined in one so read it close. On the bar menu is a great dish called Steak Frittes. It's a hanger steak cooked to your liking and comes with fries. For an extra $5 you can get a baked potato. They also have one of the best French Onion Soups I have had. When it's time fir dessert a must is the Cre'me Brule'. It's the best i've had. You can't go wrong with this happy hour. I marked this restaurant as being very expensive and avergae for children. Happy Hour is very reasonable but the regular menu is very expensive. I'm advising average for families with kids only because of the expense involved. It would be cheaper to hire a babysitter than bring children.

“How can you not like this place?”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

The food is top notch, and the service is wonderful! Ok, so it is pricey, but it's so worth it! They also have great happy hour, so if you're looking for just some small bites of some awesome food, this is a great pick!
